I've been trying too learn this for so long.... In 2019, I had the opportunity to sell my missile design to the gov. However, Instead of selling a single design.. I'm aiming to have my company obtain a contract and become a defense partner. . . Do you all think this is possible? I am building out a prototype as well. . . . I will truly appreciate any information on this. Thank you!

So let me get this straight.... I can create a business that finds other businesses that have recourses that the government is looking for. Then I can set up a contract to the business to full-fill the government contract? Basically becoming a middle man in providing recourses to the government? An this is called a government contracting business?
@GovKidMethod
@GovKidMethod 4 жыл бұрын
You can if you do a minimum amount of the work yourself. You can not become a pass-through and just let some other company do all the work for you. You can not 100% outsource. In this video, I discuss the middle man strategy: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWKphGyLYtmqqqM

@@GovKidMethod but if someone is working under you as an employee that doesn't go towards the 50% correct? so if there is 10 employees for a job and you hire 5 and subcontract 5 to another company but don't physically do any of the work yourself it would be legal or a passthrough?
@GovKidMethod
@GovKidMethod 4 жыл бұрын
jj b your employees DO count. You don’t have to do the work literally yourself. It’s your company that has to do the work. And your employee = your company. You don’t have to do anything literally yourself, but as an owner you do have to be the majority party involved in all the day-to-day business operations and management.

GovKidMethod , so im planning on creating a marketing business. Because I have a list of different businesses I market for as a freelancer, an each business i market for provide different recourses. One of the business i market for, has a certain recourse that I found out the government needs... so your saying I can send them a contract through a sub contract , but i will have to do the minimum work. What if it just supplies? How would doing the minimum work apply? To something as simple as providing 10,000 units to the government? But the sub contractor has the 10,0000 unit supply. Also i seen the video, if I negotiated the government contract or bid a contract to be 150k or less , then can I send the whole contract to the sub contractor to do the whole %100 an still get paid for a commission percent agreed with the subcontractor? Is that legal to do? Also thank you for replying!

I’m terms of subcontracting. And by that I mean, subbing out 100% of the work as a middleman / pass through… My understanding is that, as long as the contract of for $150k or less, OR the business that you are subbing out the work to is similarly situated - meaning they’re a small, woman owned, or hub zone business - that you can sub out 100% regardless of dollar amount. Please provide some clarification to this. Thank you very much.

My biggest thing holding me back is the concept of funding. I'm hearing that you use the contract as a way to get the vendor to net 10 net 15 or net 30 so you can fufill to the government in time. Once the government gets their order and pay you out, you pay your vendor. My fear is having to put up the money and then being barred.

What would you recommend for a college student that wants to become a Technical/Proposal Writer within the Government? What books do you recommend to read to learn about proposal writing? What is a great way to get experience to prepare for this type of career path?

Salt? I guess. Bro just use sand with solvent dye or blend. We used it all the time in road construction. It's more affordable and more available. Plus it keeps the roads dry. Unlike salt where the road is still wet and could freeze again. Sand is always way way cheaper and there's more of it than salt bc of the mining process each one goes through. Plus sand is recyclable where as salt is not. You could easily get trucks hauled to you from any mine or quarry. Here in Texas I can easily get a full truck load for less than $600-$700 any day even Sundays.

You have to stay within the stipulations of the scope of work. The contract specifically called for salt with anti-caking dye agent. If there were an instance where you could propose an alternate method, then perhaps salt would be a competitive approach.

Derek great work you're putting out. Are the contracts cashed out in advanced, inmediately after the completition/stages or after completition,then undergoes bureucratic paperwork and finally cashes out? Or how?
@GovKidMethod
@GovKidMethod 4 жыл бұрын
Good question, Axel. The government pays NET 30 after you’re setup on their invoicing system. They don’t give you cash upfront. It will either be a monthly billing or progress payments depending on the type of work it is. So you need to be able to float that until you are reimbursed.
