Hi Julie, I am from Canada and we get these types of calls as well. I always ask how the weather is and say I hear you are having a major snow storm in which they agree too. Most times they want payment through a credit card that I never give of course. I do string them along to get as much information as I can out of them, they are to smart to give up anything as you are aware of. I wish there was a way to shut them down, we do block their calls afterwards but only to find out they call from another number. Love what you do and keep up the great work. Your friends from Canada.

The card number was the correct FIRST four numbers with the rest ALL made up and written down so I could repeat it. I had him going for half an hour! 😎👹😆 If you want to play with scammers, write your fiction down so you can keep giving the same story to keep THEIR line tied up as long as possible. I look at it as one less person they can scam as long as they are talking to me.

Hi there, since you didn't give out your account number or send any money to them the best we can advise is to just watch your mail for any scam letters. They might try a different tactic since the phone scam didn't work. If anything looks suspicious or if something is too good to be true, it probably is. Best of luck and feel free to reach out with any follow up questions!
