Always loved him and his wholesome family movies. The mistake he made was to enter politics. When he joined politics he was at top, he wasn't cut for that job. That job took 5 years of his acting life and when he came back, industry had changed a lot. Govinda is such an illiterate and brainless person. That's why his career duped suddenly after reaching top. He couldn't handle the pressure of success. His mindset is very low and uneducated. He didn't do the role of chunni babu in Devdas just because it was a supporting role. That shows his arrogance and ignorance. The kind of movies he did and the personality he possessed in the 90's wouldn't attract the new generation audience. After 2000, actors in Bollywood started to adopt fashion trends of the west. And Govinda remained the same old roadside Romeo.

I'm just an 18 year old kid, aaj subah mera meri mummy ke sath jhagda hua tha kisi baat pe and I was in so much regret and guilt ke mene mummy se uchi awaz me baat ki... Have always been a Govinda fan. He was one of a kind...totally unique....and there has not been one actor similar to him , though Varun Dhawan does adopt some of Govindas style. Govinda is simple hearted and he understands that his talent is a god gift and blessing of his parents. This interview was so interesting! I totally miss Govinda now. Govindaji was right. Krushna sometimes goes overboard in comedy while talking about his mamaji. He should not forget that apart from being his mamaji Govindaji is also a superstar we all have grown up seeing. When he is making a comedy about him not in good taste it does not make us laugh. So better be in your limits. Govindaji is our idol and ideal so please respect that status.

Govinda’s strongest point was his roots firmly attached to the earth. That made him absolutely likeable within the masses. Almost all his movies in 90s did well inspite of not having great storyline or plots. His simple characters stood out and his dancing helped him propel into stardom. Unfortunately, his downfall was not due to anyone but himself. He continued doing same kind of movies. He has become a cult now but, at that time it was getting too repetitive and public moved on to different kind of movies. He started thinking too much of himself and never thought of coming out of his comfort-zone. He kept making comebacks without any success. At the same time, he kept blaming others for his failures. He still thinks that there are some people in the industry who are not letting him succeed which is completely wrong. He needs to re-invent himself and do some serious stuff to come back into business.
