From the sounds of most of the Mimir and Freya dialogue, this journey was about redefining his role as the God of War. That's still what he is but he's going to use the power of Hope that he's always had to do better than he once did. He'll be the new, just God of War that the world needs now. Just like Tyr was in his prime
