Such a great video. This is really helpful for my son who is a Baylor pre med hopeful! God bless you in all of your endeavors!

Hello!! I am a Sophomore in High School and I want to become a pediatrician/family physician and study Pre-Med. I am in the process of applying to a high school program, so by the time I graduate High School, I will have an AA in Pre-Med/Biology. I really love Baylor (I have heard great things about their Pre Med and Med program) I am hoping to go here, and this video really helps me a lot. I love watching your videos and seeing your journey! I hope all is well, and you are staying safe during the pandemic. :)

I understand the feeling! Not my favorite system for sure!

When did they change this? Is it not recommended to go to Baylor anymore? I think it's already difficult to get into Medical School anyways! Don't need a difficult grading system to make it worse!

Whar extracurricular activities were you involed in? For example, did you do any research? volunteering? shadowing? How did you get your clinical hours?

Hey man, big fan of you and your channel! I’m going to be an upcoming freshman pre med at baylor this fall. I was wondering what the connections are like between the pre med health clubs and local hospitals/clinics in regards to finding and having access to clinical volunteer opportunities. Congrats again on med school!!
@MedHead4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your support! :) Pre-health clubs have pretty good relationships with local clinics. I know that the Waco Family Health Center has a relationship with at least two of the clubs and that is the clinic I volunteered at through BMSA. There are also ways to reach out individually to the local hospitals to volunteer, shadow, scribe, etc.!

Has Baylor changed their GPA if you have an A- or 92 is a 3.67 GPA and not 4.0? Doesn't it make it harder?

Does Baylor have any difficult professors? How do you find out which ones to take for Science classes?
@MedHead3 жыл бұрын
Baylor's professors can be tough, but there are a handful of great teachers!

@@MedHead So that is scary! I have a 4.0 in High School. Worried about how difficult Baylor is vs another college as you know GPA is important for Medical school. And I don't like their grading policy for A-!

Are there a lot of scholarships? Cause when I check on their website there is not much of it.
@MedHead4 жыл бұрын
There are not too many scholarships offered to incoming Baylor students, but there are more offered by certain departments at Baylor to students! If you keep your eyes peeled you can find them! I also applied to individual outside scholarships that I found online! :)

What was your high school gpa?
@MedHead4 жыл бұрын
My HS GPA system was strange because it rewarded a higher GPA to AP classes, but I didn't do as well in high school as I did in college. I was at best top 15% of my high school graduating class.

Question: If I finish Highschool with a Bachelors degree. Do I still have to go to pre med or do I go directly to med school?
@MedHead4 жыл бұрын
Most of the time it is wise to complete the pre-med prerequisites at the university level!
