The Insiders gather to discuss Kansas State connecting with longtime Big Eight member Colorado on Saturday in Boulder now that the Buffaloes have returned to the Big 12, but for all of the storylines in this game, it make come down to controlling the line of scrimmage. This episode of the Insiders features GoPowercat's Tim Fitzgerald, Ryan Gilbert, Cole Carmody, plus analyst Brien Hanley, as well as Joe Tillery, a Kansas State graduate who covers the Big 12 for Heartland Sports.

K State has not experienced the onslaught of the offense that CU has in their QB and that WR core. CU is also first in run defense now in the Big12. They are now honestly the most complete team in the Big 12 and people still find a way to downplay them. K State at elevation AGAIN at night in Boulder, they are in for a huge rude awakening

CU has never faced the 3 headed run monster Wildcats have. Nor have they faced the pressure k-state brings. Typical Buffs fans, just like old big8 days, bunch of blithering loud mouths.

All we gotta do is establish the run early in the game than it all start from there. They got a good pass rush so I hope the oline plays good which I believe and know they can well alright as long as we run the ball and the oline plays as good as they did in the ucf game the oline is getting better and better every week

I appreciate the insight that Brien had on the show. CU knows that they will get every teams best shot and people aren't taking them seriously because of the glitz and glam.

BYU fan here, Colorado is maybe learning that G&G alone isn't enough. Coach Prime left us all enamored, along with himself. If he miscalculated, he has the will and desire to get there. Prime will get there. I don't know if KSU is the game they do, though.

Ryan made the most significant point .. (paraphrasing).. Pressuring Shedeur is not enough, you have to get to him…. Shedeur his accustomed to playing behind a shi*** OL so making plays under pressure isn’t a game plan AH HA .. Ppl really don’t understand how adversity is no longer Shedeur kryptonite.. FYI .. As horrific as the Nebraska slaughter was it was as equally beneficial..And for the record who has KS played that has challenged them outside of BYU. Why is CU the only team that win and then a team all of a sudden UCF isn’t good? One can argue that also could apply to KSU win against OSU and Az .Which leave them being blowed out when they played a “real team”BYU) Also why is it you can point out 3 and possible 4 play makers on ur team that will make a difference but act like CU play makers won’t have the same impact as KSU 3-4 play makers.. I hope no one is betting off yall assessment because your disdain for Deion/Cu gonna cost folks money

CU alum here. Really enjoyed the thoughtful conversation. I've thought the exact same thing. Our season can depend on this game. Win, and the UCF game was a building block ...lose, then maybe, that game was a fluke. Either way, glad to be playing each other again. Well done fellas

@@Caleb20824stop it bro. They are not. I understand you like your team but film dont lie. Colorado is 1st in big 12 run defense and 13th in the nation. Lb play is first in nation stopping the run. If k state can’t run the ball they will lose badly cause Avery can’t throw. CU by 21 at least 😊

It's going to be like every week. If CU wins, then everyone is going to say KSU isn’t good. CU will will by double digits if they play like they did before the bye week.

@r.j.3097: They are already preparing their excuses… “KSU doesn’t play well on the road … or at night … or at higher altitude” - so beating KSU doesn’t really count as a quality win for CU.

@r.j.3097: The excuses for why a CU win over KSU doesn’t really “count” will rival the short video clip, “Blues Brothers - It Wasn't My Fault!” … “My car ran out of gas. I had a flat tire. I didn’t have enough money for cab fair. My tux didn’t come back from the cleaner. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood! Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT!”

Opinions aside. What numbers/facts would suggest k state is significantly better than Colorado. From the looks of it the they’re a more polished UCF. The numbers would suggest so as well. I watched BYU kill their defense and BYU is not on Colorados level from a receiver/QB standpoint offensively . Secondary is questionable at best . QB gets nervous with pressure and is not accurate . Statistically Colorado has the best DB room in the big 12. If Colorado stops the run it’s game over .

@bige2012: Competing at altitude is a concern in endurance sports like cross-country running, cycling and soccer. It’s not as big a deal in football, where players get a break between their “short” duration, high intensity plays. Playing at elevation can be a psychological problem though - to combat this, John Calipari told his basketball team that the altitude wouldn’t affect them because the game was being played indoors.
