Twisted by Curtis J. Melton

"Twisted" embodies all that is disorienting, mentally, physically, and in form. After a somewhat serene and playful opening, an onslaught of unsettling effects are thrown at the listener, making it clear that things are a bit off. "Vertigo" gently spins, whirling to a foreboding climax of confusion. We end with the embodiment of distortion, both harmonically and in form, taking an unexpected turn before plunging us into a full assault on the reality!

This is by far my favorite piece we have received over the years. The first movement is energetic and gets everyone going. After Vertigo begins we are all on edge and waiting for the dynamic change. It's overall just a very fun song to play, the brass love hollering at each other and EVERYONE enjoys screaming at the end of Schizophrenia.

I’m performing this for my freshman year. Very helpful to finger along with, I have finally mastered the part at 1:50, I’m a flute and it took me awhile to focus on the background part.

Ok it’s been 10 years, it’s time for GPG to give us the Cimarron-Memorial Unedited unredacted version, there’s a good 20 seconds chopped off circus after dark and probably another 15-20 seconds chopped off false awakening, and bit of edit to three ring nightmare’s ending too.

4:04 the big hit for the ballad…. There’s supposed to be about 16 bars before this that are edited out where the original performers of this piece would basically shapeshift the drill pattern and then about 6 bars before you hear the trombone come in and go dotted half note C dotted half note F crescendo we all hit our spots and then BOOM. I get it GPG edited it for time but the original intent of those transition spots was to allow for fun with the circus act and with the drill, that was one of melton’s favorite things when he composed marching band stuff for CMHS, there was always something in there that was as much about the drill and performance as it was the music, same with the other piece “Boundaries” that the OG’s know as plan of attack
