What fun with two tractors? We got 2 feet of snow in northern Michigan and it’s snowing again and expected another 9 inches of snow. I waited a couple of days for my half mile gravel driveway to freeze then I got the tractor blower out. Will get it out again after the next storm. Winter has finally arrived and I thought it was gonna be mild all year. Took my backcountry, cross-country skis out what fun and there’s even ice on Lake Michigan. How beautiful.

Great video. I live just 12 miles south of the Mackinaw Bridge in Michigan and I've had to plow 3 wonderful times in the last week and a half. We currently have in excess of 2 feet of snow. It snowed so much that the roof of my 12 X 20 portable storage building collapsed just 12 hours before I was planning to remove the snow. It was brand new so now I know how much snow it can't handle. I only have a Kubota 1880 with a rear blade and a front loader and haven't had any problems other than I need a heated cab. At 71 I think I deserve a heated cab. I did attach a 5 foot section of black ABS pipe to the rear scraper blade. I had a 5 foot section of PVC pipe but it cracked half way through last winter. The ABS is much stronger. Hope you get your 2 feet of snow.

Yesterday was my second time with my JD blower of this winter, first time blowing just snow without gravel mixed in. It was fun. I like leaving that bit of snow behind after clearing with blower only, it helps maintain that hard pack barrier over the gravel. If it gets too thick after a few snowfalls, I can blade it then. Ideally, to me, in mid-January, there's no dirt or gravel visible.

GP love your videos and I’m a recent viewer. I am downsizing from a 40hp machine to a lx2610 mainly because you convinced me I could get along just fine without the extra hp and lift capacity. Firewood might take a little longer to move, and snow might be a little harder to push but adding the backhoe which I really need and sacrificing the cab and horsepower for the same money makes sense. Keep up the good work.

Great video of good neighbors & team work. I'm simply amazed at how well the back blade works at that steep angle. I'm guessing the weight of the blower keeps that front end tracking straight. Thanks for another great video. It was nice to see 2 blowers going at once. We had the same amount of snow as shown in the video and then shortly after we had 2 separate dumps of 15cm each from snow squalls passing over us as the wind shifted. Needless to say I have been busy clearing snow. On another note I watched your video on chainsaw purchase again and decided it was time for a Stihl 462 CM. That is one very powerful saw.

Hey Gordon, quick question for you. Do you use the blade, and then the blower, to minimize the snow "banks" along the sides of your driveway? I only ask, because a lot of us here in the midwestern US will use ONLY THE BLADE for snow removal. Now granted, we don't get the FEET of snow that a lot of you up north receive, but I have bladed snow up to sixteen inches. The other factor supporting the use of the blade alone for us is that our snow does not stick around for months! It just looked like the blade was cleaning your drive so much better than the blower was. EDIT: I guess I asked my question too soon, as I watched when Guy showed up and saw that he was indeed taking that furrow of snow created by the blade and blew it into the woods. This makes me feel better about living where I do! LOL
@GPOutdoors
@GPOutdoors 9 ай бұрын
Good morning Lonnie. Exactly correct. The trees line right to the edge of the driveway so no room for pushing the banks. If it is a small snow , I sometimes will blade to the side but the bank will build up to big over time and the driveway starts to get more narrow as the winter progresses. Have a nice weekend!

So do you think that the plowing was easier done by Guy and his bigger machine or would you have been able to complete the task with yours just in smaller bites? Have you ever broken a shear bolt in the blower? I think your taunting the snow gods might be a mistake😂. We picked up 11” last week and that was more snow than we have had in the last 2 winters combined. That cab looked awful inviting!

LOL! Morning BLT! Yes, I could have done it for sure. Just bought a brand new LX 4020 to move snow in mountain resort. dealership put howes diesel treatment in it and sold me a bottle to treat diesel because the temp i around 0 degrees F at 10000 feet elevation. I have 17.2 hours on the tractor and the thing won’t start. tried for 3 days finally put 911 in fuel filter and added a little to the tank as per specs. still won’t start. had to tow it through 4 feet of snow 150 yards as the kubota dealership in my area wanted to charge me 8 hours of labor just to drive out to and from my location because i didn’t buy it from them. took it to a kubota dealership in a different state but only 1.5 hours from me. They told me the DPF is completely clogged due to the fuel. SOOO no warranty and no insurance coverage. $12000.00 to fix. the tractor was only $39000.00 WTF! Kubota service and insurance and Sales all suck. They blame it on the other dealerships, no one is taking responsibility for taking care of tractor. Read your manual and warranty and insurance form. If it is fuel related. NO COVERAGE. DONT BUY Kubota! LIARS and Fraudsters. Does anyone have any insight or help here ? Just lost over $20000 on contracts for snow removal. and looks like i wont be getting this tractor back for at least 3 to 4 weeks, even if i pay the extortion money to fix it. and then im sure it will just gel up again and and wont start and will have to go through this all again in another 17 hours. only about 15 total gallons of fuel have gone through this engine 8 of which was put in by the dealer and i only put 12 oz. of howes in the 10 gallons of ulsd i bout from costco. teir one diesel.
