I have found that finishing off such a job and for routine maintenance throughout the season a light weight drag harrow works wonders. I have a 4 foot wide one that was actually sold for an ATV that I use with both my smaller Kubota BX and my Kubota RTV. I have a more aggressive drag harrow for rough jobs, but for final smoothing I use the ATV one that is constructed from what looks like a very heavy duty chain link fence with sold steel end pieces added. You should check on one of these. I think you would like one for your drive (and neighbor's)) and use it with your ATV.

Hi GP! Sorry about the camera incident. That couldn't have been a cheap problem to have happen! Mike Morgan on Outdoors With The Morgans does quite a bit of work with a box blade. I don't remember if you had mentioned watching his channel before but I think you did. I've been thinking of buying a rotary cutter and called two dealers about one made by Woods and was told a 4-6 month wait and the price just went up 7.5% due to the increase in steel cost! When will this madness end! Cheers from MA!

The way you describe what you are doing and help people of all levels use their tools makes it easy for everyone to understand, "leave no man behind" right? When people see you as a relatable, humble (but also super cool of course) kind of guy, it makes people want to stick around for the long haul. Great job GP. Great job Gord! By just looking at the slopes of the terrain next to the driveway, I would personally dig a little ditch or a kind of gullet on both sides to evacuate the water coming down. Sorry about the camera GP but as the military says....you've got to expect losses in big operations. Your video came at just the right time. Yesterday I took my new land plane and started reclaiming an area where I removed several large stumps. I was amazed at how well the BX was able to fill in the large holes and then smooth the entire area. A couple hours and it could be ready for seed. But I'm going to delay that and continue to learn how to use the new implement. Your tips are timely for working on that. Good luck and the camera hunt. Cheers By the way my ear protection continues to work like a champ. I especially like the blue tooth feature. It's good to be able to hear the phone while working the tractor.

The best mod I made to my tractor for easier and more productive box blade use is to install a hydraulic top link, running off the rear remotes. Allows me to change the cutting angle on the blade without getting outside in black-fly season up north. Princess Auto (in Canada) sells a reasonably priced unit and they will make up the hoses and fittings at no charge other than the parts.

I think all you would need is a land plane to smooth it out and crown it I'm not sure about where you live but down here I can get recycled crushed concrete for about a third of what it cost for lime stone. you might want to have guy check into it also. regrind (recycled) asphalt is a good option if you have some road work (repaving) being done near you. its cheap and very effective I've used both and I have to say once it gets packed down its very stable good job on the driveway I'm 10 years into owning a tractor and still learning something everyday

Good day CM! Great questions. I'll love to have an excavator but just doesn't make sense to purchase for my needs here (I will most likely rent one this summer to get a few things done). Loved the log winch i had loaned to me but same thing - very expensive and specific piece of equipment , which is why I didn't keep it. I would like to have the landplane back ( lots of discussion on it currently in the comments) but for my needs here, I don't think it is justified to buy both a box blade and a landplane. The BB does just fine. Hands down favorite is the grapple overall. Snowblower is a necessity but grapple wins otherwise. Perhaps one of them will one day - fingers crossed:)) Thanks CM - be well my friend!

Generally I tilt the box forward when I start to make it more aggressive. After I get some of it loosened up, I tilt the box back to make it less aggressive and it seems to smooth things out better for me. A lot of the bigger tractors years ago (maybe 45 years ago) had the release feature on the lower arms to make alignment easier. My tractor is too old and doesn't have them. I generally will hook the top-link first and if the implement isn't exactly in the right spot I use the top-link to move things a little to get them lined up. 👍👍👍
