I’m a satellite systems engineer who happened to stumble on your channel, and the 3D infographic you made to show how 4 satellites are needed to eliminate positional and temporal uncertainty is the best I’ve ever seen. Great question! The transcontinental wires under the oceans are for communication between parties on Earth where each party might need to send information, but GPS satellites are different in that they quadrilaterate your position by receive (not sending) signals
