Anaya Wood it’s not really that everything is about race. It’s that people want to be represented. Like if you ever see in the news and media is just people of one race you start to feel discouraged and you think they are the standard for success and beauty. But if there are people of different races representing their culture and race it’s empowering. No one wants to feel left out or feel like the only way to be successful is to be one specific race. Like me when I see successful black actors, musicians, etc. I feel like I am capable of achieving that too. I feel like there are successful happy black people that I can look up to. Like Chadwick boseman and Lupita nyongo and more. It just feels good to be represented. I hoped this helped you understand.

Yes we have a powerful, beautiful movement happening right now and for you to say it's getting "shoved into our face" is a red flag but let's set that aside. The reason why we, the black community want more representation, especially in Disney movies is because we don't have as much. We have children that we would like to see be represented in these movies. Not saying we aren't thankful for the movie Tiana which is beautiful, we're just asking for more representation and I don't see why anyone who claim they support BL or believe in equality for everyone would have a problem with what was said regarding more people of color in Disney.

Jordan Fisher is clearly already a prince. We, along with ALL children, deserve positive representations of African, Black, and Southeast Asian heroes, of all heroes that reflect people who look like us and who don't. I think the first problem is Disney and a culture here in the US (and elsewhere) that creates a false sense of scarcity and competition for actors (of all genders) of color by decisions they've been making to only tell certain stories (white ones, primarily) and only feature certain actors (white ones, primarily). The same problem exists in publishing and it, of course, extends far beyond the arts. I think the second problem is lifting up royalty as worthy of adulation.
