He's asking cause its actually a new thing in the US. The U.S. is pretty far behind in terms of credit cards tech. Canada rolled out tap a decade ago, when America was just starting to install the chips on the card (which was already in Canada since the early 2000s). Like even a few years ago, I remember Americans getting weirded out by the chip on the credit card, thinking how it was super new. Meanwhile, I was just like... the chip is old AF, where do I tap?
