about the bobble head babies, its aligned with the narrative and is supposed to be the form of a Homonculus, which in the show was described in class in relation to some dudes theory that i cannot remember the name of, to be a humanoid with certain parts of the body enlarged depending on certain aspect of individual, and considering the human race is most well known for its brain, the head is enlarged in comparison to the rest of the body. once the person feels hate or anger, the homonculus changed to a more agressive shape (the dog that makoto is so fond off for example) my biggest issue with that is that all the babies of the three kids are the same, even tho they all have vastly different personalities. a subtle difference besides the eyes would have been nice. TL;DR: The bobble head babies were there for a reason, not by designers choice.

here is the deep down explanation of Ghost hound: I watched this absolutely fabulously fancy yumyum yueiehfaweufdhau ygu anime a few years ago. it was awesome and badass and awesome and ya but last summer I really got into studying metaphysics and spirituality, and I have finally fully understood ghost hound. the whole anime dwells upon the subject of ASTRAL PROJECTION. what is this astral projection you may ask? well, it's just a fancier term of saying out of body experience. but while researching astral projection I realized how it's exactly what happens in this anime. When your consciousness leaves your body (btw anyone can do this, just search tutorials on youtube) as energy, you enter a different frequency of dimension. also, in every dimension you looks different (that explains the baby bobble head stuff). The ghosts in the anime are actually interdimensional beings. just as there are humans and plants and animals in our current frequency of dimension, there are beings in the other dimensions. cool eh? so therefore, ghost hound is based on the scientific and spiritual phenomenon of ASTRAL PROJECTION. man i feel proud of this lmao also, this is all proven with quantum physics, so before you go on telling me how this is fake and blahblah do yOUR RESEARCH! ( 0 --- 0)

@Aaron-no3ne11 жыл бұрын
yeah, I remember that fact bothered me a lot too, I watched the rest, but seriously... after the dark undertones with his sister dying and just subtle but depressing atmosphere, the baby forms just seemed totally out of place... The anime just gets worse as it gets further unfortunately, but it's never quite so bad as to make you hate it absolutely. It's just the first couple episodes make you think the show is going to be a masterpiece, then the rest is... okay...

I liked them They made sense to me the only part of their non pysical selves that were well defined were their main senses the ears and eyes and taste as I recall this was further pointed out when they learnt what a homunculus was their baby forms were their homunculi basically

I just finished watching this show and I like it! Good review! I understand how you feel about the ghost babies. I was thrown off by that too. I think the reason that the creators made them ghost babies was to represent that the characters were "newborns" in the Unseen Realm. Their ghost forms did mature as the series progressed. BTW, thank you for ending the review with Poltergeist. That song rocks!

Does anyone know what the hell that little goblin demon was that Tarou's therapist saw? Looks like a mini version of the Beldam from Coraline? I quit the anime not long after that part because it freaked me out and the anime was crazy and unnerving as hell anyway, but in the following episodes I saw it was never mention again. It wasn't the Astral forms of the kids, it was some little weird naked demon baby.

I think that this show is recommended for those who are at least interested in scientific explanation. This show has a lot of science (Like cellular automata, the connection between the amygdala and the hippocampus and a bit of quantum physics) and while you can understand the show without them I think it will be more enjoyable if you do.
@crow_rpg8 жыл бұрын
+DoYouHaveAName1 Or the subject of this show is simple : Narcolepsy The author made a great job here.
@DoYouHaveAName18 жыл бұрын
It's true that Narcolepsy is a major subject in the show but can the Snark just be overlooked? Or the reason those artificial spirits wanted to live or how they were created? And who the Lord of One Word was. A major chunk of the show is around explaining conditions, syndroms, history and so on, I'm only guessing here but I believe one can get bored if s\he is not interested in these (Untill the action starts anyways) and maybe it might get confusing too. The show revolves around Narcolepsy but touches other subjects too. I understood most of the subjects talked there (Me and quantum physics don't go well together but I was already familiar with the medicine stuff) and really enjoyed this anime.

@Glass Reflection Most Anime D.V.D's from Japan from what I've seen, look pretty good. Their collector edition D.V.D's or Digital Remasters look pretty stunning usually in my opinion. Not only great cover art, but genuinely nice looking D.V.D cases as well. I also love how they will even include an artbook, art prints (etc) for the set itself. I love Anime and Manga artbooks. Especially of older series .
@foregroundeclipse87258 ай бұрын
@Glass Reflection Idk how different the Japanese D.VD's are for Ghost Hound compared to it's U.S. release counterpart. I am curious. I plan on researching into it. I want to try buying the Japanese D.V.D's of it, specifically a D.V.D boxset or collectors edition if such D.V.D exists for this series in Japanese.

Overall, I did really like this show, but when I try to explain it to my friends, they don't seem to understand why. ^^' It is really different, which sometimes makes explaining it a little more difficult, but that's also part of why it's so good! I really liked the graphics for the scenery, but I thought the character designs were a little dull. And I agree with you: while the English dub may be nothing special... it wasn't terrible, and it was nice to hear a change up of voices. Good review!
@VeaFlea10 жыл бұрын
the thing about the case is that for one individual case its cool to have the extra flaps but when you go into mass production that can amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars in plastic :( . I guess the cowboy bebop guys didn't care about blowing the extra cash

Have you reviewed that old show that's loosely based off of the 16th century French nobleman who wore dresses, and solves the mystery of his sisters death in the anime (and does so while occasionally dressing like a woman)?
@Killjoyreign11 жыл бұрын
I think the deal is with the case is that they were being cheap. The Cowboy Bebop case uses more plastic, which would cost more money. So to cut corners they made a case that has only that one spot to store discs. And if you break a disc you may go out and get another disc. A fairly evil idea, but I don't think they could have thought that far ahead.

I know what you mean on the dubbing, the part about rereleasing. When Kashimashi was originally put out on DVD, it was sub only. The subs were good, so I had no quarrels with buying the DVD. This year when the dubs came out, I about flipped my mind. I loved the manga, and the anime...so naturally i'd want the english dubs, but it felt wrong watching it in them, mainly because the dubs were horrible, but also because it was already released in sub only...

Hey, i've heard that the original team that made Serial Experiments Lain (Ryutaro Nakamura, Yoshitoshi Abe, Chiaki Konaka) were working on a new anime "Despera". But it was cancelled. Does anyone know if the anime will be released any time soon, or the project was shut down forever???

The suggestion that there might be a level of consciousness beyond the physical realm has fascinated people for thousands of years. Are we tied to these bodies forever, or, could this vague concept of “we” be a mere illusion; a solid container that our ‘ego’ is ready to transcend at any given moment? Science has one answer, religion offers another. "Ghost Hound combines the two".----->glad i watched it (completed today);its the best i ever watched after "code geass" and "Monster". if you know something greater please reply.

Although I agree with the ending side,are you sure it wasn't you who missed the anime? I mean,you should rewatch the final parts,or as a whole actually because then it wouldn't have too much sense, to really get what the series is about. 'Deteriorates' is like the opposite of what you can say about the development in Ghost Hound,it's just what makes it awesome.Honestly, rewatch,reanalize,rethink this series from beginning to end.
