​​@@1985_Honda_CRX_Simodern computers have been able to tell that since like 2008 lol. It doesn't take a lot of processing power but ECUs have had very little until about then

@@1985_Honda_CRX_Si Every single sensor on a car is computerized and has been for the last 20 years. If the speed exceeds 85, it sets a flag in the ECU's memory that a dealer computer can read.
