GR131: Hiking 85km across Tenerife [Silent Hiking Video]

Late March this year my friend Lara and I hiked across the Island of Tenerife. We hiked on the GR 131, which goes through the Canary Islands and is about 500km long. This video shows the beauty of the hike and the island.

I have one question: How was the water supply situation? How much water did you carry and are there streams / springs? Thanks in advance!

The water situation is kinda tricky! We carried about 2-3L per day. We filled them up in Villaflor, in the National Park el Teide we walked 1h (one way) to a Hotel to get water, then on a little camping. There are bascially no natural water sources, you always have to go into a restaurant and ask. If you have more question just let me know. Happy to help!

Another nice one :). Camping wise, the first spot seemed like an authorized camp spot but the other spots are wild camping spots right? Is that normally ok on Tenerife assuming leave no trace principles are honored?

I have to say wild camping is technically not allowed in Tenerife. For me, it’s super important that you leave no trace and do it discreetly.

Hello :D What was the coldest temperature at night? I spent 2 weeks on Tenerife in December and at high altitude is was like 7 C degrees at night.

We had one night around freezing temperature! Our water bottle were a little frozen 🥶
