Thanks for this man! I just ordered that part number for the kit from messicks. I cant wait to have this GR going again. I also ordered all new Nachi/NTN bearings and seals from my local bearing guy just to be safe.

It is on the third winter of snow blowing. 12-14 inches of snow is no problem. No leaking what so ever. Good luck with the rebuild.

I greatly appreciate the time you took to share your expierence and tips on this rebuild. So many important details the shop manuals do not discuss. Do you have any other trans rebuild tips or links to other GR2100 articles or videos? Thanks again! Great job

I found searching orange tractor talk for related Kubota fixes helped, even though some weren’t GR series. Good luck.

Thank you very much for the informative slides. I wanted to know where did you get the repair/upgrade kit from, and what is the part number? Because I went to my local Kubota dealership but they did not understand what I am talking about.

I think Messicks is how I found it. Search GR2100. Then under “frequently purchased parts” you will find it. It is considerable effort to do, but buy the shop manual and you have a good guide. The kit comes with a manual too, but you need the shop manual.

There is another video on KZbin now, showing gr2100 transmission work. You should search for that too.

Three winters now and it is still working. But that is probably less than 30 hours.

Hi, I am looking at doing the same on a GR2100 I acquired. Is it possible to just replace the bearings as nothing has failed yet. Will the original casing accommodate bearings? I noticed that you have additional hydraulic lines which mine does not have, are these for powering the snow blower? Thanks for an informative video.

Open the hydro, if it was rebuilt under warranty it will have bearings. If not, bushings are really thin, bearings might not fit.

An update. Only need to run it 3 hours last winter. It worked good. Anyone trying this needs to make sure they snap the center u-joint into a locked position. If the shaft length is fixed, you are good.
