@ it was pretty easy. I used e6000 glue and clamped them and tied them up with rope for a few days. Can i send pictures here?

@ i soaked them in water for a long time so that they were pliable and easy to work with. I may have used Alene’s craft glue ir E6000. It’s been a few years.

Natalee I have to praise your magic drill. I am only 4foot 11 inch. 115 pounds. Getting a drill that fit my small hands meant it was a drill that wasn’t strong enough to drill or screw anything. The Athena drill turns me into superwoman. I’ve made furniture, drilled new holes for my refurbished dresser. Help create varied craft projects. It’s WONDERFUL!!!!!

I use these cylinder vases, I spray the inside with one color, place several shapes of a Christmas ornaments cut from contact paper all around the outside as if they are hanging from a tree at different levels all around then sprayed the outside with a different color , peeled the contact paper off immediately and added a base these were stunning

I love the candle vases. A couple of Christmas' ago, I made pairs of the vases on the candlesticks for all the gals in my family. I wrapped the lower portions in twine & made a twine flower too. I glued our late mother's earrings into the flower centers. Everyone loved the memorial to mom touch.

I have to admit my fav is the one with the candle stand on bottom it is so elegant and simple, still the others are all nice . The way t you designed them each really makes the difference & sometimes that’s where I need ideas so thanks. No I don’t have my power drill YET but soon ,can’t wait to start using it 😊

Thanks for all the great ideas. I’ve made several similar ones before. I used a stencil and etched a monogram on the taller vase. For Christmas I have two that I glued to the dollar store candleholders. I put two candles inside with pine greenery around the base. I can use them over and over for different holidays. I’ve even put a fern frond on a candle and put it in the vases

Watched Lisa’s latest episode or 2 and saw some shower snippets there! ❤ Looks like it was a very sweet time! Blessings to the future bride and groom! You’re not kidding about that smart vinyl! Love my Cricut but I admit I do use a couple different brands of vinyl for different projects. That smart vinyl is great but can be stubborn! Always cut it with more pressure bc I also have found the normal pressure doesn’t quite do it. Love these vases. I’ve used them for home decor, centerpieces and more! So much you can do with them! Enjoy watching your DIYs! You are always so genuine and so much fun! ❤

I used the vase and glued the dollar tree margarita glass upside down to make a tall beautiful vase. Maybe try the paper transfer tape instead of the clear vinyl transfer tape when using glass.

Those were really beautiful ways to decorate those vases and beautiful gift for Mac and Ellie! I'm so happy that in the little town I live in, our Dollar Tree has started incorporating Dollar Tree+ decor, so when I saw those larger vases, I grabbed a couple! LOL! The smart vinyl is okay for projects with less detail. It always cuts beautifully with the smart vinyl setting, but I often find the transfer challenging. Yay for thrift flips 🎉🎉. ❤

I have been cricuting for 4 years, so I understand that struggle. If you weed on the mat it is so much easier! It's like a 3rd hand. I know the big feature is no mat required for the maker 3. But it may definitely worth you trying and see what you think. I do own the Athena drill and I love it. My husband has had to try it out as well and he's impressed by it also.

I had that same problem making labels for my kitchen containers. I used the strong transfer tape and couldn't get the vinyl off it.😅 I almost gave up. I finally got them on by swiping the vinyl one good time to get it off and on. I just learned they make smart transfer tape that works best with the smart vinyl. Phew Cricut! They're like 80s video games you always have to find work arounds lol! Everything is beautiful NataLee!

Last spring, I used the double vases, filling the outer ring with leis and the inner vase with pastel day lilies (copying another DIYer's idea). I also like the flexibility of filling the outer vase with candy hearts, Hershey Kisses, candy corn, mini pinecones, etc.

I love those vases too. There was a time when I couldn’t find them anywhere so I bought 10 when I finally found some. I have used them very different ways. Ok, I hope this doesn’t offend you, but I’m glad I’m not the only one having had issues with the golden smart vinyl. I ruined several pieces recently and finally gave up without losing my religion. Thank you for your secret on not using the smart vinyl when cutting thin lettering. Your project turned out beautifully! I’m sure Lisa’s daughter loved it. I know I would.

I know where you are coming from regarding the cost of items. I saw a very nice pom pom wreath on Pintrest and was shocked to see it selling on Etsy for $89! Right then and there I had to see for myself why the wreath was so expensive. So I went out and spent $12 on yarn (used half of it so I have some for a second wreath) and spent $1.25 on the metal wreath form. Obviously the cost came from the time the creator took to make the wreath because it took a bit of time for me to make mine. But in the end, the satisfaction one gets from creating something from scratch, that others appreciate, makes it all worth it. As for the vases, thanks for the inspiration. I have a new bookcase that needs something tall on it to balance out a picture hung above it and you gave me a great idea. Take Care - Rose
