Yea, really hoping to get out with David again with his Touareg. By far the most impressive vehicle on the day.

Hi Richard, loved the sound of your Pajero, can you tell me how you got it to sound so nice ? Any exhaust boxes removed ?

Thanks Brent! That’s full straight pipe. No boxes. If you check my other vids you’ll find one of me straight piping the PS :) Thanks for watching and subscribing

Why do people tend to Not use the diff locks? I have diff lock and I use it most of the time. Spinning wheels damage the trail. I always engage diff lock before I go into a difficult obstacle. It's there, use it.

Different strokes for different folks. Sometimes it’s nice to try no use difflock or other aids. And depending on the trail, sometimes it’s ok to rip them up a little as they are maintained etc. if it’s just dirt roads something along those lines then yes, use diff lock.

And then they still say that the 4-Motion technology in the VW's does not make it a "real" 4x4 🤣

It was impressive. It has its limits, but when so does every other vehicle.

are there any routes you can safely explore by yourself? I plan to do this Grabouw trail in two weeks. I have a Hilux 2.5d4d 4x4 d/c. I have very little expiernce, mostly use to driving in mud and wet.

They have a AWD trail that you should be able to do without any issues at all, however, its never advisable to go off-road alone if you're a novice. One wrong move and very quickly things can turn nasty for you.

I have no intention of doing route the Wildtrak took and beached.

That and the first obstacle where the Thar got stuck are definitely not beginner friendly and even more so if you are alone. These obstacles are not on the AWD trail. But there are many tracks/farm roads you can drive around and also a few hiking spots to see the waterfall. Best would be to call Willie and then arrange with him.

@@RichardBauer_ when I say alone, I mean occupied with my brother in the bakkie. I wont be taking any risks where it might look like I will need to be recovered.

Sure, but you still only 1 vehicle. But go and explore and enjoy. Its a beautiful part of the country!
