She's so beautiful--inside and out. I don't really care if she does body modification for "attention" or not. Everyone dresses, wears jewelry, makeup, shaves, and more to look more aesthetically pleasing or for the sake of self-expression and "attention." Just because the medium of expression is different from your own doesn't make her wrong. She seems like a genuinely caring person.

I remember watching this video for the first time a long time ago, probably 3 years or so. I was in a very dark place back then and everything she said sounded so inspirational and I yearned to reach that mental place one day. I kept repeating to myself "you have to put yourself on top of your own universe, no matter what". I'm a fixer, too, and I think helping is somehow engrained in my personality. I used to hate that part about myself and wanted to act all tough and heartless, but it was wasn't me. For some reason, I remembered her words today and wanted to re watch it. I'm thriving, living my best life and now I get to look back and pat myself on the back for all of my personal growth. What Grace says, is very very very true. My world did change when I decided to "care" for my own little universe before taking care of anyone else's, while also remaining kind and helping to those who need it, I just gotta make sure I'm not hurting myself in the process. I love her so much, she helped me find a light to start healing from terrible choices I made in the past. I'm not where I want to be, yet, but I know for a fact I'll get there. I fee alive in a new light. I wish the same happiness upon everyone

I'm nothing like her but I admire her. I don't see it as showing off. People should be proud of themselves. She's not hurting anyone - in fact - she is helping others that have to deal with the same shit she had to. Everybody compromises themselves to some extent for our social environment. Even the outfit you had on today was something YOU chose, whatever it was, and if it makes you feel good to wear that instead of say, a purple velvetween willy wonka outfit, then so be it. But don't put down others who want to be different from you. That just shows how insecure YOU are. Otherwise you'd respect someone who wants to be and express themselves. We have celebrities even that look like and act like whores, but conventionally so, but we are not as critical of them since they fit into our societal standard. Hypocrisy is everywhere.

I think it would have been much harder to cope, since people wouldn't be half as nice to her, and it would be so much harder to convince yourself that you're even worthy of your own love. I had to comment on this video. I saw another one about this girl & was directed to this one. For all you young, beautiful girls out there aspiring to a fulfilling life as an adult, do not listen to a thing this girl has to say. She is emotionally, if not mentally disturbed. She knows nothing about self love or self acceptance. She is a poster child for self hate. Please, for your sake & all those who love you already, do not pay any attention to what this mixed up young girl has to say. She is not an example to follow or example of who you ever want to become. Just be your own beautiful, self loving person the way you were born. Maybe a few tattoos to express yourself but please do not abuse & mutilate yourself out of hatred for your own skin as this girl has done. She has made herself ugly & will have nothing but regrets as she grows older. I have several tattoos myself & appreciate fine artistry. Unfortunately this girl is a high risk candidate for early demise or suicide if she continues on this path. Very sad all around.

self love by completing changing every aspect of your self? how more hypocritical are we going to become as a society?
@kt-kr4gm8 жыл бұрын
+AnOuRieL85 if you put it that way, it does sound hypocritical. but, i think the body mods are a way of having fun "inventing" one's self. some people just get lost in themselves, and then try to come up with a way how to put themselves back together, to be happy with the result. i think her body mods are a way of doing just that.
@AnOuRieL858 жыл бұрын
+Moon Ridge Studios Self love is a combination of how you chose to look on the outside and what vibes you actually have in person and the second one is not something that can be actually be measured .You have to see it with the eyes of your soul.I believe that a cover of a book is always very important and although it does't say the whole story it can give some hints about the aesthetics of the person and much more.Tattoos used to have an other meaning and you had to be brave enough to make this choice because it wasn't something so common as it is now and it was linked with people in jails,people living in tribes and they had a deep meaning.So now{I am not talking about Grace} that most people just use tattoos to decorate their bodies in the same way we use wallpapers in our houses the tattoo has lost its true power and meaning. Going around showing them off,talking about them all the time for me it is the opposite of cool.If you are cool about your aesthetics you don't need to show them off you just simply have them and you become famous for other more important aspects of your personality.If someone tells me for example that they have rose flowers for a tattoo because they like roses I find it kind of lame.As a society we really need to focus in deeper ways of standing out because really I am pro self expression in an artistic way as long as you wear everything that you choose and they don't wear you.So if you decide to wear a tail next week DO IT but please don't be so self aware and act like you are something so special.There are a million things more important and meaningful that people in human history have accomplished so if we keep focusing and making people important because they look like outcasts while they are not it is very very dangerous. thank you for your kind reply,I hope you could read my small essay :P
@AnOuRieL857 жыл бұрын
hahahaha!! I am not the one that goes around and preaches about self-Love first of all.Really with that name you are commenting about 'all' my make up which is by the way just a lipstick and an eyeliner? A woman that got her whole body tattooed, including her eyes, and had many modifications should be the last person talking about self love. If she truly loved herself she would still look like she did before all of that stuff. Even in a video i saw recently, she held up a photoshopped picture of herself and said that's what she would look like if she hadn't fucked herself up. She even knows shes fucked, smh.
@angel-gu8co8 жыл бұрын

I didn't know the guy that said that to her was the same guy that edited the pic, I thought it was later where the man told her he didn't like it. Anyway, if she truly loved herself, she would have accepted herself as is instead of "fucking herself up".

If one loves oneself, why dye the whites of your eyes purple and take a chance with your eyesight? Sorry. I don't see it. I see a young woman obsessed with empty pursuits. Body modification is embraced most by people who do NOT have self love.
@samarztk8 жыл бұрын
how can you say you love yourself but mutilate your body that you were born with
@pigknickers8 жыл бұрын
+samarztk and there is simply no answer to that. It's the obvious fallacy of the position she adopts. I would say, and please I think she's a sweet person and I'm not 'hating on her', that she's found a form of self-harm that has brought her success and a type of fame. Not small things those and I can see she will need to become more extreme as this progresses. There is no way back for her so she will have to keep going or accept other more extreme people stealing her limelight. Tricky position to be in, I will watch in interest.
