This isn't the video I thought I would make after the finale, nor the circumstances I would be making it under. The writers already broke our hearts by killing Grace, and then NBC went and kicked us while we were down. I would normally write a long essay on how Grace is the best fictional mother I know and how she never received the love she deserved from the fandom, but right now all I care about is bringing our beloved show back. Back in S1, I gave her the benefit of the doubt when everyone hated her because I knew it was just the writing and I had faith that she would improve. I’m so glad I did because she definitely turned out to be an amazing character all around. I love seeing everyone else appreciate her now too. I’m gonna miss her 💔

She's a beautiful character. She loves her family so much and she's human. We see her make mistakes and have emotions because shes human. She's an amazing mom and I love her passion for her family. The same with Ben, him and grace are great complex characters. In the end she died trying to save her baby. I'm crying

I can't believe they not only killed grace but then they had to go and kill our show too! it was your videos that got me to watch the show and I have zero regrets because this show is AMAZING and it deserved more seasons! at the start of the show i used to hate Grace’s character because of how difficult she was being to Ben and Michaela, and how difficult it was for her to understand the situation everyone was placed under. But as time passed, the development of her character really improved - so much to the point where she became one of my most favourite characters in the show. i hope somehow in the new season that she will come back to her family, or atleast there will be a calling or vision of Grace finally being at peace with her family.

This is a perfect application of this beautiful song to a beautiful character! Because her story often got lost is all the craziness of Manifest, I often didn't notice the depth of her journey. The scene between her & Michaela when she says that she "can't do this anymore" was probably my favorite of this season. Thank you for highlighting this character who was the epitome of grace.

Even though I hadn't yet started watching the show (but I had it already _very_ firmly added to my to-watch list because of your videos and enthusiasm only), I was absolutely devastated on your behalf when I read the cancellation news, Anouk! I just hate how so many stories aren't allowed the proper space to breathe and develop these days, networks truly need to stop with their outrageous chew & spit mentality. I did sign the petition and I hope your efforts get rewarded, it would only be justice! As for the video...well. Even not knowing the full picture, you paint such a vivid portrait of Grace, what her core struggles and values are and what an amazingly strong and inspiring character she is (HOW is she not appreciated enough in the fandom?! Seems impossible from an outsider's perspective). This song is an emotional crescendo in and of itself, but I have never been so teary-eyed at the end of a video with it ;_; so if it's that effective for me, I can only imagine what a beautifully, emotional tribute this must be for fans of the show. Rooting for you all to get to see this story to completion (and maybe, finally hopping along for the ride too!) SO much ❤️

I completely agree. I think the only reason she isn't appreciated by the fandom was because I'm season 1 she was overly protective and unreasonable with a lot. But truthfully her character GREW and even in the moments where she's being insufferable in the earlier season, her reasons are ALWAYS her family. She just had to accept the callings and the connection of 828, it makes sense she couldn't understand it at first. Once she came around to the callings and Ben solving them, she truly became one of the best characters ever. The fans focus so much on her in season 1, it's overshadowed everything you just said and all the growth she has a person. Season 3 I absolutely loved her and felt so bad for her in many ways.

You did such a good job, you just have this magic talent to create the most perfect connection with parallels, quotes and scenes. I feel your pain about Grace's death! But the reason why I ended the video with "I guess this is goodbye" "For now" is because I believe the Callings will bring Grace back by the end. She got hit by dark lightning and touched the tailfin a second after Cal disappeared. So I think as long as we get the show back, we'll eventually get Grace back too!

She did confirm she wouldn't return as a series regular (at least for now), but she never said she'd never return. My theory is that she'll likely make a return around the passenges' death date, since she was looking at Cal's drawing of his 2024 gravestone before she died. And thank you so much! ❤️

If it makes you feel any better, I firmly believe that Grace will be brought back at the end of the show. Jeff Rake, the creator, had the whole story mapped out pre-season 1. And given that Michaela and Grace had a very significant scene in 3x11 about both of them getting their happy ending on the other side of the death date, I can't imagine that this scene won't pay off in the end. Plus, Grace got hit by black lightning and briefly touched the plane in 3x12 (when Cal disappeared). I think that could mean the Callings can bring her back, despite her not having disappeared like the others. The Callings just planned for Grace to be gone for now so Ben finally overcomes his main flaw.
