We can easily finish a unit in 10 days. She usually takes 30 minutes per day unless she’s working on a paper, then it takes longer. We do the reading challenge outside of the units and I assign 2 weeks for each of those extra novels. We are almost finished with Year 3 and we have loved each year. She’s going to do dual enrollment for English next year since there’s no Year 4.

So grateful that you are still willing to share your highschool homeschooling journey with us! I can totally relate and understand to your children's need/desire for privacy. No complaints from me on that front! 🥰 My daughters will be starting 3rd/8th grade next year. Love that I can watch and learn from you, someone who values faith and family like you do, the most important things in life! Thank you, thank you, thank you for your time and efforts in helping us homeschooling mommas!

Thank you for sharing. High school is so bitter sweet for me. I have graduated 5 of our 8 children and how I wish TGATB was a part of their homeschooling high school years. I am thankful that our last 3 will have it. We have been doing TGATB for the last 4 years as well and we absolutely love it.

My daughter works on the Honors booklet on Friday's. She'll finish that one in about 4 more weeks. We're also doing the Simple Planner from Mardel for the upcoming school week. The way the booklets are laid out I kinda chunked out the literature book, grammar and writing, and poetry geography and art into sections to work on together.

It calls for more organization in some ways and more emotional support for your teens but can be some of the best years! Don’t fear y’all. Keep at it and trust the Lord! Enjoy the journey with them. I agree that there isn't all that much content on YT for homeschool high school, although I have found several amazing long-term homeschool mamas to follow here! Our high schooler just finished the first unit of level 1 of this course, and her feedback has been very positive so far. She was using a different writing program before and she specifically said that the writing assignments (insights journal) are much more interesting in this program than in her previous program.

Thank you thank you thank you for doing and keeping up with high school homeschooling context. My daughter is going into 6th grade in the fall. I didn't know if we'd be homeschooling the whole way through but God answered my prayers by us finding out we'll be moving in June to a new state (military) and there's nooooo way we'll put our kids in that school district. So I'm soaking up everything I can just to get prepared for when that time comes. I'm also very excited to start TGATB because this is our first year starting it. I'm very excited to start!

I have a 1.5 year-old and almost 4-year-old girls, so I'm only beginning to research homeschooling options and ideas. I found your channel about a week ago and I have been binge-watching ever since... I'm working my way back and am currently back to last April, LOL! Even though our kids are not even close in ages, I'm finding your videos so helpful. I have always planned on homeschooling them and was already starting to stress about the how-to's and what things would look like. THANK YOU for your sharing everything that you do and also making homeschooling seem possible. I love that you make teaching your children your number 1 priority, but also don't lose sight of yourself as a person. I have hope that I can (and should) work to maintain that balance! PS- I also find it comforting that there are like-minded Christian women out there who aren't afraid to speak up during these times we are living in. I'm hoping more and more will start speaking out and standing up for our freedoms that are so clearly at risk!

Thanks for sharing! We are starting High School in the fall with 3 other younger grades and a toddler. I'm trying to figure out our schedule for next year. We do TGTB for almost everything as well, including History. We are beginning new (non-TGTB) science this fall for my oldest that is 5 day, but still plan on TGTB history that is generally 2x a week. I'd love your input on how you plan to do history/science with your kids. Will you still just do History 2x a week, or do you plan to break the lessons up smaller and do a part each day to complete 2 full lessons a week? Since I will be continuing Science with TGTB for my younger children, I was originally planning on continuing to alternate days of Science/History as a family. Now I'm wondering if that will overwhelm my oldest on the days we also do History having to do both subjects. I'd love to see how you plan to schedule (flow) the daily subjects.
