Matthew 7:21-23 ......so often vs 21 is spoken of and used out of context. about what the ''will of the father" is .... When a verse is taken out of context, it becomes a pretext for a different meaning. It is Jesus who clarified exactly what the will of the Father is.... It is found in John 6:40 .....and it is tied to the one key word for salvation. Go look it up. Focus on the pivotal word of ''believe' That same pivotal word is in John 3:16 .......as well as all through the book of John......and all through the New Testament. What then does Matthew 7:21 -23 expose as the issue ? Jesus showed it is the matter of works vs Grace & faith. The rejected person in Matt 7:22 states clearly: " why are you rejecting me ???....many ''good works we have done...." Jesus says "I never knew you" because ''works ' cannot save, rather it is full belief in the incarnate Christ Jesus. who went to the Cross to pay for our sin. What then does Jesus say about Works ??? go look up John 6:28-29 and you have the explanation...........again, it pivots around the word "believe" : I am pointing this out so you realize the importance of ''belief"......... Once you do, you will never look at Matthew 7:21-23 the same .....The Gospel pivots around this one word Jesus uses often....Belief. Lot of yall might want to read your Bible. 1 thing that's important is to not judge someone. Like quite a few are saying oh there not Christians well only God knows if they truly are or not. He warns us about saying that someone isn't a Christian when they are so be extremely careful when judging if someone is a Christian. judging others in a hypocritical or self-righteous manner, where you overlook your own faults while condemning others, is considered a sin.

The Bible never tells Christians to never judge someone. It says to avoid being a hypocrite when doing so since they will be judged by the same standard. The fact that the Law teaches one HOW to properly judge inherently means a Christian is expected to be able to judge others.

A cultural christian would def be considered lukewarm. None of us know for sure what the other is thinking or believes. I believe the smartest thing for all Christians to do is focus on their own belief and the strength of their conscious contact / relationship with God.
