Snape is such a deep character with so many layers, and after years of being seen as a bad person, he finally shows his true self. He was a brave man, and noble one too, at the fact he let everyone see him as something so very different to what he really was. His story is truly haunting, well done J.K. The only reason he even seems unkind is because he's compared to Dumbledore, who if you haven't forgotten was planning for Harry to die all along anyway!

When I was younger and the H.P. movies first came out, I used to think that Snape was a fucking asshole. It was not until the Half-Blood Prince and the two following that I realized Snape really cared for Harry. Granted hated him at the same time because Harry's dad but he loved Lilly. There are people who say they can't forgive him because he bullied his students, because he never was a nice person at all. I hope those people will understand one day that none of the persons in Harry Potter was a nice big hero (except Dobby), they all had flaws and bad habits. That's not what makes you a hero. The greatest power of a hero is his love. Nothing else. Without the power of Lillys love, Voldemort would have killed Harry. Without the power of love Bellatrix would have won the wand fight of her and Molly. Without love noone had a patronus, so many people would have died in the series. Love is the escence of all books. Without it they wouldn't even exist. Just understand that and you might feel a little different for Severus.

+Kiraschwarze I know! After watching it once you notice the little things and what they meant when you watch it the second time that made him come to life so much. All the little things he did, expressions, gestures it all added up to express him even more. Alan brought him to life so much as he knew what was to happen so he was able to do things that would express Snape more and show it in the end. He would argue with the directors against what they wanted him to do in saying "no I can't do that, I know what's going to happen you don't" as Joe had told him what was to come so he could bring Snape to life more; she told him the meaning behind *always*. Alan's performance of Snape in all the movies was breathtaking and I think one of his best with all what he did to act as Snape. RIP Alan Rickman; you wonderful man and your breathtaking ways of acting! Always~

Yes he is truly one of the best actors I have seen with how he was able to bring Snape to life. He is one the rare few actors that is able to bring out a character so well that would show for it in the end. I've currently watching the HP movies again and I focus more on Snape when he's in the scene to see all what he does and understand why he did that. Because of Joe telling him about Snape he was able to bring him to life so well and it helped him understand him more as well when playing him. All the little things he did through the movies added up to show for it in the end and to create a truly memorable character and actor!
