4:33 “we’re at war” I laughed, because it sounds like something I would say about my rose garden 😂 I love your mom! She seems lovely 😊

I have had roses & a beautiful Nellie Moser clematis for years. Nothing as large as your garden, which is gorgeous. I just recently discovered a recipe that is for Black Spot but Ive noticed I dont have bugs any more. Very simple. Baking soda & Dawn mixed in water. Spray.❤ Recently, I found a deer repellent recipe that works!!! Im getting to see new buds bloom before the darn deer eat them! TY so much for sharing your roses. Happy Rose Gardening!!❤😊

Its nice to see your mom’s rose garden again. She’s absolutely right about a large rose garden. I stop planning roses since there are too many for me to manage and constance battles with critters and bugs. I just maintain what i have and grow some other perennials and annuals to add more diversity and beauty to my garden

You’re so lucky to have your Mom around. Mine died when I was in my 40’s and I miss her so much. She was a gardener too and she passed her love of flowers to me.

Roses are my favorite! I love gardening! I live in central Mo. and I had no blooms in July because of the beetles! But I battled I took a pint jar of soapy water and went out every morning while it was still chilly held the jar under the loaded rosé blossoms and shook then a bit , the bug perceived danger and dropped into the jar , pop the lid on and soon they drowned. I caught 90% of them this way !

I truly enjoyed your mom’s Rose Garden!! What rose would she recommend to plant next to a trellis?? Thank you 😊

I enjoyed this so much! Your mom is just as cute and witty as you are. Ask has she tried beetle traps. I have some and although they don’t eliminate them they do cut down on the population.

We’ve both tried them! They do catch them, but they also draw them in with the scent. So we stopped using them because they were escalating the amount that showed up near the gardens.

@@GraceInMySpace well heck! They worked pretty good in our yard. They damage our grapes and muscadines more than ornamental things. One year I did the soapy water. Time consuming but I got them.

I once had a rose garden with 35+ roses but he deer ate them on a regular basis!! I had to concede to their presence and had to get rid of them. I live in Maryland. How do you deal with deer? Do you have them where you live? Believe it or not we live in a development but do have woods nearby ( including a school), but they continue to eat whatever I am growing!

She places deer bags around the garden fence. They are sold from a local nursery so I’m not sure what’s in them, but they work! Marigolds are a great option to plant too.

Tell your mom to treat her lawn for grubs. They become Japanese beetles. Milky spore is the most organic way.
