I love how Fran was willing to endure all kinds of insults from CC when they were directed at her, but put her in her place if she crossed the line with the kids. Not only because of how protective she was of the kids, but the fact that she accepted CC and her place in Maxwell's life and knew she couldn't do better, she never spoke ill of her to him, even as his wife, even after all the insults and they rarely affected her.
