the custard bun you got is most likely a “liu sha bao”, which translates to molten lava bun - so it’s meant to be runny! :) also, it’s grainy because they use salted egg to make the custard!

these are literally my favourite bao of all time and i was SO SAD that she didn't like it :(( in cantonese it's "lao sah bao" which literally translates to "runny sand bao" so, you definitely get what's on the tin! hahah

Bun house also has a lovely little “secret” restaurant downstairs. It’s styled like a 50s Chinese speakeasy. It’s really dark with moody green neon lighting everywhere. Incredible food, incredible cocktails. Service is a bit hectic sometimes but really authentic Chinese food experience.

I feel like this is a niche opinion, but I’m pretty over merch, with TikTok’s popularity over the last year, it seems like everybody has merch and it just doesn’t have the same prestige anymore? I can just imagine going into a charity shop in 5 years and seeing polo shirts from tik tokers and idk I think there needs to be something very different about it to make it worth the purchase.

You are definitely one of the only youtubers I would want to buy merch from, in fact now that I think about it you really are the only one I would want to buy and wear proudly. I would love some like a crewneck, lounge set, or pjs (or a baking line! as many others have mentioned). Baby blue/ robin egg blue should defo be in the colour palate, with some Grack sayings like “peace out punks” or “it’s fine we get over it” or “the sun is shining the tank is…” (bc TM I’m sure), banksy!, or little drawings of international food encouraging people to try new things, you could also recreate your videos as merch (like eating 1950s for a day, and have drawings of the pinnacle foods they ate, like the ones you tried).

When you said memory foam I absolutely lost it 😆 also I’ve had so many Korean corn dogs in LA, NY & NC in the US and they’re all great. Best ones were in LA though. Try the potato hot dog, without sugar and just ketchup/mustard on top. Yes on Merch I would love to support you that way!

Definitely agree with the merch being subtlety branded. Like even a small tag on the side that says grackle in multi colours or written out of food haha, but not on the actual clothing. Large, oversized hoodies with something to do with baking would be cool because it incorporates your style and channel. You also have so many iconic quotes that could be written in small font on pieces. Stripy shirts, so many options

I think to be different to other KZbinrs a kitchen/baking inspired range of merch rather than the regular clothing range would be fun. Spatulas, aprons, oven mitts, pot holders, tea towels, rolling pins, cutting/chopping boards, a mug and of course cups with straws are some ideas!!!! A pajama and hoodie/sweatshirt range could be good too but needs to be subtle.

hi grace! i love your videos and it's so fun watching someone try food from my culture 💕 just a suggestion, whenever i order cream cheese tea back at home, instead of giving you a straw they hand you a small plastic knife looking thing and you're meant to cut at the lip of the cup, near the ridge and you drink it like a latte. that way you drink the tea with the cream cheese and you get more of the cheese flavour. im not too sure if that is how machi machi cream cheese drinks are intended to be consumed but you could try it this way next time! also if you like sweet drinks you should try their creme brulee drink from machi machi. it's really filling but worth a try
