I am definitely saving this to a playlist for reference. I’ve only had mine for a couple of months. Haven’t used it a ton. THe last project I did was a black paint. Followed up by a clear coat to seal. All water based products. Worked flawlessly. My husband used it yesterday and the day before. He was using a white interior/exterior water based paint. THe first day… everything was great. Second day… wouldn’t spray. He tried all sorts of things. Not sure what he ended up doing to find the clog. But he said it was in the gun and a black piece shot out. Interesting that there was lots of clear coat and white paint that sprayed wonderfully before it clogged. I’ve only been using water to clean. I’ve wondered about using a cleaner that’s safe. Mineral spirits makes me nervous. Also laughing. My gun still looks pretty clean. Your’s is covered. LOL. My husband would flip out. LOL. My intent is to keep it clean. But…. Glad to know I’m not the only one because mine will eventually look like yours.

I felt so bad the first time I got paint on it. Probably the first day I had it. Just like a scratch on a car. After the first one it isn’t so bad 😂

I love the concept of this sprayer. But the price seems a bit ridiculous....and now i see it is overly sensitive to being clean and it also doesnt seem robust. Getting like i dont want to invest in buying this machine anymore.

I don’t think you’re wrong. The price is definitely due to the size and portability rather than due to the premium internal components. That being said, I haven’t regretted the purchase. It has been an extremely versatile workhorse for my projects- I even painted the exterior of my house with it! It just needs a little more loving than some of the bigger, more robust units

Thanks for the video. So when you clean out your sprayer do you flush it with mineral spirits, then add pump armor after?
@SpottedTongueWoodworking3 ай бұрын
That’s a good question- I always understood pump armor is used when the sprayer is going to be sitting for a while, especially in close to freezing conditions. I could be wrong- but I feel like I don’t go more than a few days without spraying and as such never saw the need for it

I can’t believe it not a aluminum pump that a little disappointing for 1500 hundred bucks you would think it would be more solid .

Right? It’s such a little thing that can cause such a huge headache, especially for that price

I got my own unit and used it for the first time this weekend. I fully flushed it with water until clean water was spraying out, but then I followed it up with mineral spirits and plenty of paint was primed out. I followed it up with pump armor.

@KyleVeatch nice- I’m not saying don’t use pump armor and I don’t have a good reason not to, I just felt I never had a good reason to use it. It certainly doesn’t hurt- and best of luck with your new sprayer!

Use car anti freeze it’s cheap and stops any rusting or anything like that and use Vaseline every time you use the machine it’s cheap and stops threads sticking, you wouldn’t have had that problem with it sticking
@SpottedTongueWoodworkingАй бұрын
I’m scared to ask where I should stick the Vaseline 😬 but I have heard that antifreeze is a suitable replacement for pump armor, so I may have to look more into that

How.many litres has been through the pump before change?

Easily 30 gallons before having it clog up like that

@arinb12 I didn’t replace the pump- just took it apart and cleaned it for normal maintenance
