Grad School Application Overview, Timeline, and Tips!

I would recommend studying the summer before you apply (so the summer of 2022)

Helpful rambling ! I realized I've been doing some things well and other things not so well. When you emailed profs prior to applying to their schools, did you add your cv/transcript with the email ? Thanks for the advice !

Yes, I'm pretty sure I did attach my CV. I think that's helpful so that if they are interested in you, then they can find out a little more about you through your CV before contacting you back!

Hi Zoe, approximately how long did it take from the very beginning of the process to your acceptance?

Probably almost a year, from when I started looking at schools, studying for the GRE, getting all my materials together and writing the applications, going to interviews, receiving an offer, and finally accepting.

Do you send the same recommendation letters to each school or do you have to ask your profs to write 3, 4, 5 letters?

Same recommendation everywhere :) (at least in my experience!)

How many programs is too much to apply for?

It depends a lot on what your field is and how competitive of an applicant you are. I would recommend 6-10, but I would also recommend to not apply to any programs where you aren't a good fit or cannot picture yourself going there.
