This game was a huge part of my childhood, music .. everything. I remember that I consider it as a dream to have when I lived in a very poor area where there is no food or ..NES sources. I cried .. cried .. and I will keep crying for lovely memories. 10:17 and 16:59 . But now I am happy that I am an artist who will be able to create amazing works and for the better future. 23:06 I remember the first time I beat game. Ryu with Irene watching the sun go down, and then a shooting star passing by, OH MY GOD!! Tears came rolling down! I was so moved, thrilled and happy at the same time. I remember going outside to buy something for my mom at the store. As I was walking everything was like in a different color tone. Remember Neo from The Matrix when he was able to finally see the lines of codes? I felt just like that.

I can really relate to that bro. 1993, I still had my nes and a copy of NG2. It was the end of school semester. Friday. I arrived from school, started the game and it when on, and on, and on. Until finally Jaquio was cut down in his final form. I couldn’t believe it. It was a very good semester in school, with very good grades. However, that was nothing compared to the feeling of watching the Dark Blade of Chaos being shattered, the demonic castle crumbling and Ryu resurecting Irene with the power of the Dragon Sword. Also, shouts to the final sunset and that shooting star.!

I beat it legit. Three days of the NES on while I was at school or asleep, paused on that final level. Was so excited I had my mom come downstairs to watch the ending (I did this with games, sometimes we took a photo to send to Nintendo Power which we never did). This one wasn't like Megaman or Castlevania. This was different, the ending to a STORY and not just a staff roll. I was too young to realize it, but Ryu and Irene's story is actually really good. They earned their happy ending. Years later, my friend moved away and I watched a sunset from my brother's room playing this song on my NES (didn't have to beat the game again, I had the code for the music player). Video games CAN be art. Thanks Tecmo.

Game today are so much easier. No save states/files... If you were called for dinner you had two options: Starve and continue playing, or give up and go eat. I have to say one of the most brutal games for this was Mortal Kombat... No freakin' pause option. Come on!

They dont really make music like this anymore. Today games are trying to be movies so they have movie type soundtracks so this kind of music is basically gone forever

The Fantasy is missing from todays games, but that's why I love the Elder Scrolls, but there is one thing you can't challenge and that's music from Zelda A Link to the Past.

I agree and disagree. Back in the day, they didn't have the BEST technology to make video game scores. So, it was limited, that being said, The music to some 8-bit(and 16-bit also)games was just plain amazing(Ninja Gaiden II being one of them). But, as games progressed, so did the music as well. Hence, having actual film composers score video games, which is amazing as well. I mean the music from Blaster Master and the Mega Man games are great and also the music from Shadow of The Colossus and the God of War series is great too.

Almark I agree 100%. Even back in the 8-bit and 16-bit days the score of a game would draw you right into the game itself at times.

I was lucky to grow up during 88 at the age of 11 so remembering the amazing music of NES and SNES will never leave me. There was something complex to the music arrangement, the musicians were very very talented.

Mike Maverick Its alright, personally I like the opening theme. Got a better kick to it. I actually own this game long ago and played it, but boy it was difficult at times. No easy mode in those days.
