Grade Categories in Google Classroom

Is there a way to make the category totals visible in the gradebook?

No there is not. You can export the grades into a csv file if you need to see totals.

I have one question. Why would you use it? Or what's the benefit compared for instance with the rubrics?

Creating Categories helps with grading. When you create a Grade Category, you can assign points to it, and have it weighted and the points will total to how ever many you assign to each Grade Category.

@@CarolsTechnology Fine Thanks, but what difference does it make compared to the Labels that work pretty much the same way?

@@du1263 Probably the same, if you like using it that way. I like the grade categories because also in the Grades tab, it helps auto-grade. Plus you can see the overall class average. I will say one thing about Google products, they do give you different ways to do the same thing.

How did you create the grade summary at the end when you used the weighted grades? Did you create that through Google Classroom or on your own?

If i have a class with multiple subjects, how do I get an overall mark for each subject? I if transfer it to a CSV file, the marks are no longer a percentage and I have to manually calculate the grade depending on what the assignment was out of.

Hey. So I was wondering if its possible to make a multiple choice test and have it automatically grade itself. I need a system where there are 4 anserwers and for every one you tick correct you get a point. if you tick one that shouldnt be correct you dont get a point. If you leave one out that shouldnt be correct you also get a point. I just found out how you can get maximum or none in one question. I need a system where I could get 0,1,2,3 or 4 points. Can you please explain how to do it? Thank you in advance :)

Hi there. Do you use Google Forms? You can make a form a quiz and add the points you want for each answer and it will grade itself when they submit. Have you used Forms before?

@@CarolsTechnology Hey. Thanks for the swift answer. Yes I do use forms and mad a quiz with the questions and the answers. I have the issue that if my student ticks a correct answer and another incorrect, he gets 0 points for that question(normally he still would get 2).
