1) They got No Bad Picks. 2) They didn't get anything they needed. I'll explain. This team got *to the playoffs with _that QB room and_ that receiving corps. They traded about 30% of that receiving production away. Having receivers to pass to reduces the pressure on the o-line, yes or no? Yes. So they could have upgraded their chances of scoring _AND_ made their o-line better just by getting even One More mid-range receiver to make sure they can pick up the slack left over from the Johnson trade. Seriously, two birds, one stone maybe even a 3rd. Now the o-line is upgraded on paper. Not whichever QB they have will have .6 seconds longer to stare at their field of covered receivers. I can't wait to watch all their drives end with a better o-line extending how long it takes for that to happen. This poor, desperate o-line that got last year's Steelers to the playoffs *really "needed"* upgrades.

@@choosecarefully408 now that Mason Cole is gone 80% of the long snaps wont be on the QBs fucking shoelaces so they will actually be able to read the D before pressure sets in. Thats why Mason Rudolph was so much better than Pickett, Rudolph was used to the shitty snaps from Cole and was able to remain composed.

@@moonmessiah9368 You're not _wrong._ But as someone who has been in the position to ask "where is this team or company going & how do we get there" they still could & needed to get Better Receivers. & if you can't get an élite one, you still don't waste anything getting Watkins or Jefferson. Anyhow, it is what it is. But there's no way I'm high on this team. The only reasons I'm upset enough to comment is 1) I'm the Last True Fields Believer. 2) I hate it when I see what the people in charge don't & once you have an *adequate* o-line, it's a way better management strategy to mentally set that aside & look around to identify other, greater needs. & this draft feels like they didn't do that. 3) Having Receivers That Get Open Reduces Pressure on the o-line. _Not_ having them actually nullifies any upgrades. So it ends up being like Dan Marino's career. He was two tiers above any QB in his day except one & his o-line usually helped him in the pocket. But it didn't lead to wins because the better o-line couldn't catch passes. Receiver was a CLEAR priority here.

I tried explaining this to family and friends these past couple days. Originally from Philly we're all Eagles fans and everybody is going bonkers over the draft. We will see how these young guys pan out. When I said that everyone looked at me like I was an alien. Us Titans fans are salty for the Chargers drafting Alt, Ladd and Junior. 😂 Post draft reflections I think Latham will be great at LT under Bill Callahan's tutelage, Sweat Is high risk/reward NT, love the Cedric Gray and Jarvis Brownlee picks. In the 6th wanted Ran tk draft Malik Washington over Jha'Quan to get better slot WR3 (as Burks and Phillips are often injured) but he preferred the special teams value.

Omar Kahn has really killed it from hist first draft last year to this year's draft. I don't like the word "value" because it can really undercut what the players can become. A fringe 4th rounder can be a great value in the 6th but the better analysis is whether that pick is closer to their ceiling or if there is a much higher upside. It seems like Pittsburgh has been prioritizing drafting real high-level athletes who haven't maxed out yet due to injury, bad scheme fit in college, or just a deep class in their position. Their first 5 picks last year were either starters or logged solid time on field and made an impact (Nick Herbig). This class appears to be very similar. I expect everyone in the first 3 rounds to either start right away or become the starter by mid-season.
