re: the kicker. if he makes 2 or even 1 difference making play a game then that easy worth a 4th round pick. 1 or 2 plays would mean 3-6 points potentially. but you’d really have to dig into the data, chart the starting field position of every bears opponent, calculate the probability of success and then calculate the probability of success given a 10% better punter or the best punter ever.

Quite literally one of the best podcasts y’all have ever done!!!

I looooooove the Tory Taylor pick. The prospect is blue chip at HIS position. Sure, it's not a position most of us like to think about or even care about, but as Don Schula famously said, the details are everything. And Taylor is an exceptional talent at a detail position, that gives you another instant starter.

I think you guys kinda help bring up another reason why trading down is so beneficial. With extra late picks that you accumulate you can flip them for good vets

Great stuff again fellas. On draft grades - you really have to be clear whether you're evaluating the process or the players. If it's the players, you basically look at a very strong QB prospect and receiver and say A+ no matter what else they do. If it's the process - well you really have to take into account everything draft related since the last draft. Which doesn't just mean Sweat etc. but it also means what the Panthers pick turned into - last year's draft grade could never take into consideration how that fully worked out so it'd have to be figured into this year's. As a team trading up using future capital, Panthers should have been as good last year as they were before - that 1st 'should' only have been pick 10 or so. So I think it's reasonable to grade the Caleb pick as if he were around pick 10, not the absolute layup that it was, process wise. Then when good prospects like Rome fall and you just do the sensible thing - yeah, it's obvious but it's also good process. After that, none of the picks are so clearly good - there's questions at least over whether the tackle and punter were value at those spots. Then Booker - there's a case of just doing the sensible thing when a player drops, but using a 4th from a 'strong draft class' to get into the 5th round of a 'weak draft class' is not obviously great process. Nevertheless, the weight of those first two picks is so much greater that I think you basically just have to do the boring thing and give it an A+ overall. Caleb may not be a hall of famer but based on him as a prospect, that is a legitimate hope.

I don’t understand the love for Ryan Bates. After Buffalo matched the Bears free agent contract offer, he never broke the starting lineup in Buffalo for the next two years.
@NikkiDickson-ui9ix4 ай бұрын
Bates is still a good player especially for a fifth round pick!
@donn13874 ай бұрын
@@NikkiDickson-ui9ix maybe. But he wasn’t good enough to start in Buffalo the last 2 years.

It's possible they would have had a chance to sign Sweat in FA, which is why some people don't like it.
@NikkiDickson-ui9ix4 ай бұрын
If somebody else would have got sweat than it wouldn’t matter. You’re not thinking logically. We weren’t going to take a chance on him. He’s a first round pick for sure!

Hmm, Tyler Boyd is slot. Odunze is a true X not even comparable... Braxton won't move inside, because he has the long arms. Guards have shorter arms because the space is more limited. You really don't know as much as think you do...

ithnk we need to dial back the hype little, remember Fields, how he said nfl is slow, and how that translatet in his 3 years, with 130plus sacks? let s see him in offseason games, before, you talking about 12 pocket seconds in the NFL vs good teams and how he tracks 10 players while going tought progression and going tought reeds. will he be good possible, but how long will the learning period be, before he could show his ture potential. did the bears finally do all the right things, close to yes, I hope the team Gel together nicely.
