Grading Your Yugioh Cards - PSA, BGS or CGC?

note: bgs and cgc graded fake cards before. psa will buy your card for full market value if they ever grade a fake card.

PSA does have a guarantee on its slabs, but they've also graded a lot more fakes than BGS/CGC and it isn't by any means always straightforward or quick to get compensation. Still worth mentioning though, I forgot to put it in here

I was literally contemplating about sending some cards to CGC right at this moment and boom your video comes up haha. I may send a couple strong PSA 9s and a few raw cards to see if they can cross to CGC 9.5. My biggest issue with them was their labels being OC and tilted but it looks like that issue's getting mitigated, at least from what I've seen lately. Also in your experience are turnaround times accurate to what they're stated on CGC's website?

Haha good timing then I guess! I haven't really noticed any issues with my labels being tilted honestly, they're extremely secure in that slot in the case so there's no way for the label to move at all. Even when you crack a CGC slab the label is so snug in there that it's hard to get it out lol. Turnaround times are generally extremely good, the longest I've had was like 45 days for a recent bulk sub and that one had a bunch of errors in it so it's understandable that it took a bit longer

@@SparklingHarmony oh I see! I didn't even realise that was a thing lol. They've definitely improved their labels a lot in general so I guess they've hopefully fixed that along the way too

You should have a watch out on PCG - Premier Card Grading from New Zealand. They also have locations in Australia and the US. They are popular in Flesh and Blood and even have a lot of people grading Magic and Pokemon even if they are quite young. They have an official partnership with Flesh and Blood, grading their prize cards. And they have something in the works, to providing custom slabs for Yugioh cards :)

When the CGC label launched it looked straight up bootleg, they have improved it a lot though. I still don't like it as much as either of the others (especially BGS) but it's passable at this point

Which company do you suggest for grading mainly just for collecting? I have some cards I have no real interest in selling, but would really like the “official” protective case for some.

Right now I'd probably say CGC for those purposes. They have the safest handling of the cards, the fastest turnaround times and the clearest slabs for display. The value isn't as high as PSA but if you're not selling them then that shouldn't matter I guess

I've discovered CGC grades the most fair, except for UTR cards; they seem to scrutinize UTRs

Sure, there's no reason not to grade the actual old school Korean stuff. 99% of Korean cards you see are just modern reprints though and I wouldn't bother with those personally
