Lyrics When I was young and stupid my love Left to be a rock and roll star He told me, "Please don't worry" Wise little smile that spoke so safely He booked a one way ticket Out west, that's where they'd make it Six kids stuck in a bedsit To sunswept poolside riches He met a girl who wore Versace Pink feather coats and jumbo jewellery Gonna be a hoop phenomenon He's gonna be Hakeem Olajuwon He's got a gold Camaro He said over the payphone I try to keep my cool but My life turns in slow motion Bye bye baby blue I wish you could see the wicked truth Caught up in a rush, it's killing you Screaming at the sun, you blow into Curled up in a grip when we were us Fingers in a fist like you might run I settle for a ghost I never knew Superparadise I held on to But I settle for a ghost Where I was from in NOLA no one Left to be a rock and roll star He'd stay and treat his lady Give everything to his new baby I miss him, don't you blame me That boy went stone cold crazy Caught up in camera lust he's Chasing that pappy pipe dream I know you don't but I I know you don't but I still try My thunder shook him down My thunder came and shook him down That girl is gone but I That girl is gone but I still try I think it's over now The bullet hit but maybe not I feel so fucking numb It hits my head and I feel numb My body's looking wrong My body's looking wrong My body's looking wrong Bye bye baby blue I wish you could see the wicked truth Caught up in a rush, it's killing you Screaming at the sun you blow into Curled up in a grip when we were us Fingers in a fist like you might run I settle for a ghost I never knew Superparadise I held on to But I settle for a ghost Source: LyricFind Songwriters: David Algernon Bayley The Other Side Of Paradise lyrics © Peermusic Publishing, Words & Music A Div Of Big Deal Music LLC

i actually really like the whole song. written in 1901, and first used at a “graduation” when composer Edward Elgar was awarded an honorary doctorate from Yale in 1905. it was played as he walked off the stage. other schools began using it at graduations in the following years

To be completely honest, the night of my High School graduation, for as long as I live, will always remain one of the happiest nights of my life. I spent so much time with my class of 2022 that I was actually sad to not see many of them, probably ever again. Not to mention that I worked my ass off my Junior year to get grades as good as possible. Being able to walk across the stage and receive my diploma is a moment that replays in my head constantly, and I imagine decades from now I'll still remember it clear as day

The only thing I remember of my graduation was that we had to sit in the grand hall for two hours listening to some half-assed over-emotional speeches while no one-not the parents, not the teachers or headmistress, definitely not the students looked like they enjoyed it one bit. And the fucking music, that part where they keep looping the slow part at 1:51 kept going, on and on for the entirety of the two hours, each time getting a little more grand and louder, and you think "oh this one sounds particularly grand and has a sense of finale to it! Is it finally endi- aaaand nope it's looping again." I'm pretty sure it was still going when we left the hall. By that point the music had probably escalated to earrape levels, and it didn't show signs of stopping anymore.

The way I see it it's very philosophical. The song starts out in hurry, with notes going up and down and all around. You know that alot is going on so it's difficult to keep up. Everyone's bustling all around and then, it slows down, and right at the part we all know. I love that because, to me it says. "All that bustle you went through is over. You've done it, you graduated high school. You can finally move on with your life and make your own decisions. Your life is yours now, and whether or not that's a good thing is entirely up to you."

I've heard this song like 4 times in my life and I haven't even graduated from high school yet. I've only heard this song as a processional (the part you hear all the time) and recessional (which no one knows because they're leaving so fast) too, which is weird. And clarinet is melody for ours too, so I die every time. Welcome to band class.

My tales go on, they quiver in the utmost beauty, but after everything I have accomplished I end up here... I don't normally do this, but ever since my discovery, I've become mesmerised by this brilliant channel ... Every song and music piece reimagined by you, played from the Godlike Instrument that is "The Piano" I would be Honoured if you could dedicate a piece to me ... Coronation ode: Land of hope and glory, mother of the free How shall we extol thee? who are born of thee? Truth and right and freedom, each a holy gem Stars of solemn brightness, weave thy diadem Tho thy way be darkened, still in splendour dressed As the star that trembles, o’er the liquid west Throned amid the billows, throned inviolate Thou hast reigned victorious, thou hast smiled at fate Land of hope and glory, fortress of the free How may we extol thee, praise thee, honour thee? Hark, a mighty nation, maketh glad reply Lo, our lips our thankful Lo, our hearts are high Hearts in hope uplifted, loyal lips that sing Strong in faith and freedom, We have crowned our King! Strong in faith and freedom, We have crowned our king! The another version of land of hope and glory: Dear land of hope, thy hope is crowned, God make thee mightier yet! On sovereign brows, beloved, reknowned, once more thy crown is set. Thine equal laws, by freedom gained, have ruled thee well and long; By freedom gained, by truth maintained, thine empire shall be strong. Land of hope and glory, mother of the free How shall we extol thee, who are born of thee? Wider still and wider, shall thy bounds be set God who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet! God who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet! Thy fame is ancient as the days, as ocean large and wide A pride that dares, and heeds not praise, a stern and silent pride; Not that false joy that dreams content with what our sires have won; The blood a hero sire hath spent still nerves a hero son. Land of hope and glory, mother of the free How shall we extol thee, who are born of thee? Wider still and wider, shall thy bounds be set God who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet! God who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet! The common version we use to: Land of hope and glory, mother of the free How shall we extol thee, who are born of thee? Wider still and wider, shall thy bounds be set God who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet! God who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet!

Could you try to do a piano tutorial of my name? If you do, you’ll have to record an actual person saying my last name, because, I’ve heard my last name pronounced on automated things before, and it doesn’t work. You literally just pronounce it like the animal “bird” but it’s spelled with a “y” instead. EDIT: P.S. also, amazing cover, as always. My favorite covers by you guys are Star Wars songs.

We're playing Pomp and Circumstance as a youth Symphony, and it's nice to here the piano adaptation. Will say though, nothing beats an orchestra.

This song is originally about British Empire expansion...which is made by a British scholar graduate in the US. And is recorded in Abbey Road...which is then used by The Beatles 1961-1972. Irony or not irony?
