My name is Alex, and this year I graduated from high school.
In this video, I watch and give my opinion on a viral speech given by the Valedictorian of San Ysidro High School's Class of 2019. This video, and the public's reaction to the same, can teach us a lot about our culture.

I was genuinely going off on the teachers she was referring to when the video was first released, then i saw this video which i didn't know what to think about going in to it, i'm glad people can see through what they are seen and can give a different perspective on what has actually happened. It's good to see someone that actually thinks about what's happening and shows a completely different perspective. I hate to see how someone that gets so much praise while the truth is they don't really see the full picture and are completely false. Thank you for sharing this information that normally would just go over people's heads.

Thank you so much for doing this sort of thing, sometimes people only see the bad or misinterpret something and then hurt this people without regard. We need to see more people comforting and asking questions, instead of looking and assuming.

I graduated high school in 1995. Everything that San Ysidro student said could've applied to my own high school experience. Except the drunk teacher-we didn't have one of those. But we did have staggeringly incompetent teachers who were protected by their strong union. Massachusetts is a pretty union-friendly state compared to America as a whole, and I imagine California's like that as well. Useless counselor? Yep, I had one of those too. Gave borderline useless advice and routinely hung me out to dry. And the office? Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who are too drooling incompetent to even be trusted in a classroom? They become administrators. That's why I loved that speech. And why I suspect a lot of other folks did too. This is American education in a nutshell.

Absolutely beautiful, Very awesome video, I also don’t like the expose culture, some people made mistakes in the past and were fortunate to have them still secret, they could be working hard on becoming a better person, so who are you to expose their mistakes,(unless they hurt other people and are still doing it of course)

One possible disease the teacher could have had was diabetes. When the blood sugar goes low, the person involved will slur the words, not be able to walk straight and in general, look like the person is drunk. In any case, I hope the teacher filed suit against the student.
