So the algorithm brought me to this channel, I've been in a basketball craze lately and this popped up. Does anyone here have any tips for where to join a league for someone who is an absolute scrub? lmao I played baseball in high school, so I'm not completely unathletic, but I am 30. I've never played organized basketball before (I fell in love with the sport in college), but I played some pickup at the rec back in college at a big D1 school with some friends (I got crossed over hard enough to fall at least once a game, and got dunked on by one of the players on the school team harder than Grady in this video). My worst fear would be signing up to some men's league and then just be worse than worthless to a team. I'm 6 foot and I know how to shoot a basketball, I grew up with a hoop in my backyard and really worked on my form and can make shots (I managed at least 1 a game at the rec) but I have no handles and I don't even know the proper etiquette for pick up games or even a men's league.
