Beyond tracing with Grafana Tempo What do we do with all this data

My primary question was how to select a trace by its ID? Imagine that we have found some traceID in the logs of a specific service and we want to look into tempo for the full Span tree among different componenst.

Guys, could you help me out? I'm installing Tempo using a Helm chart and connecting it as a datasource in Grafana. I can see the traces with request methods, but when I add rate(), all the requests disappear. Is there any mandatory requirement for using this feature? I want to build error rate graphs, but I don't understand how to aggregate them without this function.
