I love how the writers have Nicodemus say, ",,, a meeting anywhere... even a tomb." And it was at the tomb that Nico finally followed.

I like how Jesus quotes what Shmuel is thinking instead of having Shmuel say it. I got to stand in the room where the healing of the paralytic was filmed and go on the roof (as well as some other places) when my older sister and I went to Texas to be a part of the feeding of the five thousand. It was cool.

This was the scene that convinced me to give the show a shot - it was the first time I found myself crying at a portrayal of Jesus. The way He hugs the paralytic after he stands, just... All I could think was "I want Jesus to hug me like that, too." I will never be over how beautifully the Chosen brings the scriptures to life and challenges me think about them in ways I never have before.

The Chosen does such a good job of opening mine eyes to things I'd never noticed before. I had to go look it up, and it's true--Jesus really did tell the healed man "Go home!" instead of inviting him to stay for the rest of the sermon!

What sticks out to me every time I watch this scene is when Nicodemus says he'll meet Jesus anywhere "even a tomb". It sticks out because - from what I understand - wouldn't meeting in a tomb make them ceremonially unclean?

Yes, and the really kool thing is that, that is exactly where Nicodemus finally follows Yeshua. It was Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimithiah that took Yeshua off the cross and carried him wrapped in white linen, to Joseph's new tomb!

Dead sea scroll are oldest copy available of Hebrew bible as per jews. This scroll proovs Jews are hiding descriptions of Muhammad and Jesus from centuries. Messianic apocalypse is document in dead sea scroll which talk about Jesus but removed from present Bible.Melchizedek is coming as per dead sea scrolls but He is not mentioned in present Bible. This Qumran sect was monoethist. Follow Quran correctly you will follow the corrected message of Jesus and Jews.

At the 3:00 mark, when Nicodemus is talking to Shmuel, and Shmuel says that God cannot manifest Himself in Human Form...didn't He appear to Abraham before destroying Sodom and Gomorrah, where Abraham even ate with Him and the two angels with Him?? Maybe I misinterpreted that whole part of the story, but I always thought that God Incarnate (Jesus), along with the two angels visited with Abraham, and ate with him and then the two angels went off to rescue Lot, his wife, and the two younger daughters.

You are referring to quite possibly one of my all time favorite chapters: Genesis 18. We get verse 14 "Is anything too hard for the LORD" in reference to Sarah's miraculous pregnancy (which I think Mother Mary was very well aware of and meditating on when Gabriel appeared in her room), and Abraham negotiating with someone who speaks on behalf of the LORD himself - my Rabbinic friends don't see two figures talking - only one (Abraham) after the men/angels (they imagine all three evidently) heading down to Sodom, but I thought like you that one remained and that it was somehow God in human flesh in Torah. The Rabbinic reading evidently has Abraham conversing with God in heaven - as he has done in other places in Genesis. But what about the Commander of the Armies of the Lord? Joshua 5:13 - seems more like "Commander in Chief of the Armies of the Lord" to me. He commands Joshua to remove his sandals - a la Moses at the Burning Bush?!? And ironically this figure appears immediately after circumcision(s) are preformed in verses 2-8, just as in Genesis 17:10-14.

I have read that a major difference in Sanhedrin was Sadducee’s did not believe in Yeshua/resurrection but the Pharisees did. Is that correct? I would like to learn more about Sanhedrin and how this council worked, voted, etc. It would seem they could not co-exist together if there was such a fundamental belief difference.

I heard it this way: “The Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection of the dead. That’s why they were sad, you see.”
@MikeKBar13
@MikeKBar13 2 жыл бұрын
I am curious about this as well, I had assumed it was a sort of power sharing arrangement between the sects particularly between the Pharisees and the Sadducees (a sort of congress to the High Priest as a president), but if the High Priest was the head of the Sadducee group than maybe he didn’t need other Sadducee voices in the Sanhedrin at all. Curious about the history of Sanhedrin as an institution. Was there a Sanhedrin in the first Temple period? When did it come about?

In this episode Sam is reading from the ESV, but we often use the Tree of Life Version (TLV) which is the first English Bible translation done as a collaboration between dozens of Messianic Jewish and Gentile scholars. It aims to maintain the Jewishness of the Scriptures and complete faithfulness to the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek manuscripts from which it is translated.

Jesus was very good at ignoring the negative. Remember with Jairus daughter. The men came and said “don’t trouble the master, she’s dead”. The Bible says “ignoring what they said” Jesus turned to Jairus and says “don’t be afraid, just believe.” Sometimes we have to ignore the “they, them people “ who discourage or try to crush the little faith we have when we’re in a bad situation and trying to hold on. We have to keep the words of Jesus in our hearts and hold on and keep our eyes on Him.

The Scene of Nicodemus (in 3:06 min the timeline) expresses the Almighty of God the Father, who can do whatever He wants. This explains why He chose NOT to use man's sperm and yet use a woman (Mary) in the virgin birth of His only begotten son (Yeshua/Jesus)! As for being humble and teachable, how far is to far? At what point do you put your foot down and say, with true conviction, "THIS is truth" without becoming un-teachable and prideful. On the opposite end, how do you remain humble and teachable without being so open you end up "always learning" like cult followers?

Great question. The answer is the arrangement have something to do with the acceptance of particular books into Jewish Canon - if I remember my Jewish Studies 101 correctly. Curiously the book of Daniel with it’s intense apocalyptic imagery is part of Writings not Prophets.

GET SOMETHING ON OUR MIND’S He have shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, Mark the perfect man and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. Psalms 37:37 KJV Beloved, if we get nothing else while on this pilgrimage journey traveling through this life, just remember, “only what we do for Christ will last”, only what we do for Him, will be counted in the end, only, what we do for Christ will last. We that have been on planet earth for a little while, are seeing before our eyes the crumbling of this society, men’s hearts are failing for fear, seems like trouble is on every hand, but be filled with the Spirit, your Lamp trimmed and Clear, look up! Your redemption is near. Stop “our” foolishness, and REPENT! Jesus is coming! Jesus is coming! Jesus is Coming! Allow the main thing of the main thing to be the main thing in our lives so we can be found among this called out group in “I Peter 2:9-10” KJV The Church of the living God! Will you be save today? St. Luke 24:47; Acts 1:8; 2:37-38; Eph. 4:5-7; Col. 3:17 KJV Not a sermon, just a thought. Elder Anthony Sanders.

Especially the government doesnt see. When you fill out a slip to give to the government, because you give an offering to God, that requires your right and your left hand. Its not being a good steward, its being selfish. Declaring tithes and offerings to God to the government is wrong. You can do it and have your reward from them, or you can not declare it and have your reward from God. The scene is interesting in how they add to it. In the Bible, Jesus sees their faith. He is not asked to do something, but rather simply sees the faith of the men. there was no Ethiopian woman whose "faith is beautiful". This is why creating characters that did not exist in the Bible Gospels, can be very problematic. Just like later on with the Samaritans and how they are presented in this series as not having rejected the Messiah right after having accepted Him. But this was the very reason why the Sons of Thunder wanted to call down fire from heaven on them.
