Wow, I thought everyone had forgotten about Graggle since you don't see him in all those videos discussing the golden age of The Simpsons. He was such a titular character in what made the show diverse and revolutionary. His chemistry with the family(Homer in particular) was amazing. It's such a shame they decided to kill him off the way they did. Here's hoping now that these old clips have resurfaced that he at least make a cameo in the newer seasons.

If I recall, it's because planet gragglus had a very cold climate and Graggle found earth houses too hot, so the tree house was nice and cool for him, he also has a hard time sleeping on a soft surface and prefers a wooden surface to sleep on, which is normal for gragloids. But in another episode, Gragledan, it explores Graggle's religion and explains that it's actually customary to sleep in a tree, as it's considered sinful to sleep in a two-story building.

Graggle was such a great character, while he could be funny like the episode where he and marge switched bodies (the scene where homer tried to kiss him in marge's body had me absolutely graggling as a kid) he could still be a complex character and even a good father figure for the cast and a voice of reason, this shows even in real life with the many reports of children without a present father figure looking up to him, a great example of this was when he gumbled so hard he was able to travel to space with lisa just for her science project, glad he is being remembered

Graggle is the only character on Simpsons that was able to make me cry. His episode when he stopped Barny from dying of alcohol poisoning moved me to tears, because I grew up in a family of alcoholics, and the episode really hit close to home... I wish I had a Graggle in my life growing up. If it wasn't for Graggle, my neighborhood never would have collectively given up all the hard drugs that were ruining the place. The episode where Graggle became Graggle Man then said "it's Graggleing time!", then proceed to push all the drug dealers out of Springfield was so inspiring. They even started saying "It's Graggleing time!" when fighting dealers. Still can't believe the Graggle 3D beat-em-up was canceled in favor of Simpsons Hit and Run. Like don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but we never got a Graggle game...

OH MAN I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT GRAGGLE! I’m just having these flashbacks to when season 3 first aired and we went episode after episode without an appearance from Graggle. It’s weird too because by the end of season 2 he went from being kind of a big part of some episodes but then he was just written out with no explanation. I have to say that he must not have left that big of an impression on me though because I didn’t even notice him in that 3D Treehouse of Horror. This is so weird I actually feel like a part of me has been gone for a long time and that I still can’t quite get it back. Or like it just doesn’t fit anymore. Like it’s been lost behind the couch for 20 years and I’ve just found it covered in dust and it’s kind of gross or something. Like I said it’s a weird feeling. I guess I kind of miss Graggle. I’d say I want him to come back but with the state that current Simpsons is in maybe he’s best left in the past.

The Simpsons was kind of a turbulent show back in the day and they were changing things up on the regular to try and establish the show’s identity. In a lot of ways it makes sense that they wrote Graggle out because he was kind of distracting with his strange design but I think it was a mistake myself. The character had a lot of heart and was kind of a moral centre for the family when things really got complicated emotionally. He wouldn’t interfere with comedy but when the show really needed to get its point across in a heartfelt manner, Graggle was always the guy for the job.

You guys remember that episode where Graggle killed Bart's bullies? That was one of the best episodes honestly. I loved the writing that went into showing how he pulled the murder off and how realistic the gore was.

Oh yeah, that Treehouse of Horrors segment! Shit what was it called again? I know the segment was scripted to be like a satirical mix of ET and The Bad Seed, so I feel like it might have been a pun on one of them. I'll post it if I remember.
