Penalising what DCE did, and probably all round-the-corner kickers do, would be ridiculous. So that's a more practical interpretation, but rule 6a) probably should now be rewritten more precisely. It's interesting that points 6b) and 6c) at 1:40 are also out of alignment with current NRL rules.

Seriously who cares? This is no where near the biggest problem in our game, this is petty, kicking the ball one step in front of the line makes absolutely no difference, theres no advantage to the team in possession or disadvantage to the opposition. Address the fact that the bunker calls forward passes "knock ons" because they know they can't rule on forward passes, so they just ignore that its a pass and say its a knock on, its happening more often now and NOBODY is saying anything about it.

Ball needs to be from the middle of the goal line. This is technically not the center. Just get rid of the short dropout. Stop changing the rules. There is no balance in the game anymore.

How do you propose to ‘get rid’ of short drop outs ? How do you legislate the difference between a ‘short’ dropout or ‘long’ dropout ? What is the difference ?

@@WTBob2005 sorry, what I meant was that they should reinstate the old rule, which penalised a poor short dropout. The rule change has made the short dropout a higher percentage play, and players in motion have a benefit in catching relative to a stationary player waiting to catch the ball.

@@organicod2438I tend to agree with you. 80% of the time there’s not enough of an advantage for forcing a drop out. There should be a bigger penalty for getting it wrong.

@@plc2866 And a slight mistake on a grubber kick swings momentum completely with a 7 tackle set from the 20m line. This has made rugby league like tennis. There is no building of pressure. The game is constantly at one end or the other.

@@organicod2438 Teams just take the tackle on the 5th and hand over the ball close to the line. Not very exciting is it?
