Tyler, you should do a video on how the average rider stacks up to the likes of Jarvis and his fellow endure cross racers and how watching these races can improve your skills!

there are videos of other riders. they get a DNF even though they crossed the finish line because it took them too long. These guys make the rocks look easy. Watch the other videos and you and see how hard it is.

Watch the start of race 6:05 camera gets cleaned 18:00 crazy cross hare on hillside 22:25 interesting pipe obstacle 28:14 well handled overtake 30:20 re-fuel & intense hill climb 31:40 another hard rocky incline 39:30 crazy decent 41:54 approaches interesting bottleneck With lots of people struggling for a while here... 47:43 beginning of some gnarly rocks 53:00 very steep to navigate 58:21 catches some more riders & then encounters a tough rock incline 1:03:25 approaches hard decent 1:06:30 rocks are hard to navigate & Jarvis stacks 1:15:34 these rocks are unforgiving & followed by another stack 1:19:00 ride ahead stacks & Jarvis seizes opportunity for a sneaky pass 1:22:20 the hardest decent! WoW! Checkpoint! 1:24:35 Lets loose on a hill climb & has to re-try! The rocks that follow have to be the hardest... slow & edurance based. Very technical to navigate , 1:26:56 Leading up to a rival pass soon after

just incredible riding. amazing to see such skill and grace on 2 wheels. when i was a kid (13 or 14) I rode in the R.M. Wheeler National enduro in Tulsa, OK. It rained like 4 inches the night before the race and i was riding a KX 80 lol. Needless to say my small wheels got stuck in the ruts from bigger bikes constantly. It was a 3 lap race... I saw Dick Burleson pass me TWICE before i finished a lap and gave up. At the time Dick B was a master of enduro racing, mid or early 80's...i think this was 85. Anyway it was an honor just to see this guy effortlessly traverse this shit bog course like it was nothing. Kind of like watching this vid. Just wow.

Typically they'll send it back to the mechanics and they'll make it good to go again. Then he'll take it to the next race. With all the performance mods these bikes are close to 15,000, so he's probably not getting a new one for every race

Graham is not my favorite rider by far, but, his a god on that bike! Even if he is 43, he is one of the best riders all time! I must admit that and I respect him for his talent, determination and strength! Young riders are coming strong but is good to have a rider so experienced as Graham to teach them a thing or two :)! If I would compare him with another rider, I would compare him with my idol Valentino Rossi! Two old guys mixed up in a world of young riders, but the two of them, still stand up from the crowd! I hope both of them will continue racing as long as possible!

i wonder how your GoPro is mounted, at first I thought it was mounted on the visor, but now I see the visor shakes seperately from the helmet... so that means you have it mounted to the helmet itself? But how?? There is barely enough space under there.
@Bryan-Hensley7 жыл бұрын
V-E D'hoore The shaking is from the stability software. It makes it seem like it's moving separate

Why don't they use transponders like they do here in the states? You just ride right thru and it beeps. Those at Erzberg seem to waste a lot of time before they record the rider. I've noticed the same kind used at other hard enduros.
@rufusz7 жыл бұрын
He is looking down to the right many times and also tried to bend the rear brake pedal on Machine (and at 59:00) and goes downhill with the engine off, did he have rear brake issues?
@scallie64627 жыл бұрын
rufusz idk about the bending part,but I know practicing going down steep inclines with the engine off let's you here and feel the brakes better, if your trying not to lockup.
@juanroberts7 жыл бұрын
There are places where it was not steep at all and he still shut off his motor. I suspect the rear brake lever was sticking so he shut the motor to use the clutch while in gear as a brake, which would make his 2nd place more amazing. Cooling the piston in my mind is reason number two, although I suspect he gets a new piston every race and not many folks seize in this event. Finally, I could be wrong but I just do not buy the listening to the brake story alone, when its easy to tap and release, and we are talking about the stoppie master. Epic show Mr Jarvis. I too hope there is a second part release of the helmet cam footage. Thanks for sharing!
@rufusz7 жыл бұрын
Scallie __ i don't agree, the rotating mass of the engine gives you stability. I usually switch off the engine only if it's very steep and can't use the rear brake because it's off camber and have to use right foot for dabbing
@scallie64627 жыл бұрын
In some Videos of Graham teaching a private class, he makes my very point. And until we ask him ourselves, i still believe the brake lever was bent in, not stuck applying pressure, and at least half the parts i saw him kill the engine WERE steep. Otherwise he wouldn't be creeping down it at 1-2mph.. Havent you ever heard of EVERY vlogger complaining about videos not giving hills justice??? tldr it's probably both, but there's no way to convince the internet detectives..
