This was the best and most powerful speech of the night and it's truly deserved. The Imitation Game was utterly beautiful and poignant but also very haunting because of what happened to Alan Turing. And I love this particular line: sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of, who do the things that no one can imagine

I'll never forget when i watched this live. I was going through a deep deep depression. I was numb, sitting on the sofa. And these words practically saved me. They still do save me. I watch this speech every year since then, to keep pushing along. The journey is long, but it's going to be worth it. Graham Moore, thank you for your vulnerability.

I'm gonna be 17 next week and I didn't think I would make it this far. I've always been very very peculiar and not very smart. I grew up thinking I was stupid and to be honest, I still do. This movie meant so much to me. And so did this speech. I can't stop crying, it was just so touching how such few words can make an impact. All my life I've been waiting for someone to tell me that I'm fine the way I am. That not belonging is okay.

Whiplash should've been in the Original Screenplay category. Damien Chazelle wrote the feature film script first, then took 15 pages from that script to make a short as a calling card for the feature film. Whiplash was nominated for original screenplay at the Baftas and Critics Choice anyway
@richfictionfighter4 жыл бұрын
Diego Pisfil J No, he wrote it was a feature-length film first. He THEN made the short to get the film financed. The script was nominated as Original everywhere

Wonderfully heartfelt speech from a passionate writer who did a phenomenal job writing the screenplay for "The Imitation Game". Not wanting to take anything away from him though, I feel that Damien Chazelle's script was a stronger story but then again they shouldn't have been in the same category. Probably some bullshit ploy by the academy to get Nightcrawler that one solitary nomination.

Graham Moore gave a great speech, but to me, it still doesn't mean he wrote the greatest script. Whiplash would've been my preference even though it isn't necessarily an adapted screenplay. But then again, Gone Girl wasn't nominated, so Whiplash was really my only pick from this category.

I never felt belong anywhere and i still don't but now i can clearly understand that i don't need to. Also i don't feel alone any longer. There is so many people like us. We've never met and probably we will not. But it feel good to know that they're somewhere.
