"Throughout his ministry John had a key phrase: “For this . . . I have Jesus.” This John was Dr John Edward Hunter, born 1909 who began his career as a public school teacher in UK and blossomed into an evangelist speaking in several countries. I just finished reading his short biography. God used Dr Hunter from a humble beginning and shadowed him through the war years for his faithful ministry of preaching the Word.

This song is like Psalm 73 and Psalm 107 :) ‭‭Psalm 73:25 ESV‬ [25] Whom have I in heaven BUT YOU? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides You. Psalm 73:26 ESV‬ [26] My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and MY PORTION FOREVER. For this I HAVE Jesus - Jesus, our portion forever, through whatever in this earth. Even if literally, all is taken away from us, our portion is still Him which can NEVER be taken away from us. Jesus, our portion, with whom we can be truly satisfied. And my thoughts on Psalm 107 ☀️God is a Rescuer. He is a Rescuer to those who are wandering and lost, who are hungry and thirsty for His city even when they were unaware that it is His Kingdom they long for. He is the Rescuer of the rebels and ended up in darkness. He is the Rescuer of the foolish ones and suffer affliction because of their foolishness. He is the Rescuer of those who are near death. He is the Rescuer of those who are distressed and troubled as they pursued prosperity. He even grants them the true prosperity they truly desire. For these rescues, God is to be praised and to Him is Thanksgiving 🔥✨for who among these are worthy to be rescued? But when they cried out to Him, He is gracious to come to their rescue. Because He is the God of grace and the only One to Whom salvation belongs.

Oh my. I saw this comment again and realized I wrote this a few weeks/a month before I got pregnant - one of the longings He graciously given. And before He's given one of His good and perfect gift, He was working that He would be my portion more than any other desire -- and still working until this day that He remains to be my ultimate portion.
