Since I am doing my project on a grain silo storage design, the video has been a great help at visualizing the process of grain storage but there is no explanation. So after much researching on the internet, here is what I found about the machines and processes in the video: 0:20 1. Grain receiving - Trucks or gondolas unload grain into a parking space with drag chain conveyors that will convey the grain into the bucket chain conveyor which will provide elevation head to the grain. This will allow grain to fall into the cleaner without the use of additional material handling equipment. 0:46 2. Cleaning - It filters out dust or other unwanted particles such as small rocks. 1:25 3. Buffer silo - This allows grain to be temporarily stored or for buffering before entering the dryer. 1:59 4. Dryer - Moisture content in grain will lead to faster decomposition of grains inside a storage due to bacterial growth or could cause the grains to mature. The grains are heated using a heat exchanger to remove the moisture in the grains 2:42 5. Final storage - Grains are then stored in grain silos which can hold them for up to 12 months until demand is needed. 3:10 6. Filtering - Final filtering is made for grain before it is loaded into transport. 3:17 7. Loading - In the video, the gondola receives grain from the storage silos for distribution or for consumption.

Could have used captions explaining what is happening at each of these seemingly redundant steps, bc I'm guessing there's nothing redundant at all here and that each phase of this is doing something, but visually it all looks the same

Great video! Loved the animation, too.

Hey this is very interesting video!. Question : why there are so many "up and down" process from the commodity truck into grain silo? what is the purpose of that? is there any chance the grain could stuck somewhere? how to prevent it? Thank you
@wyattvoitlein65392 жыл бұрын
The reason it goes up and down is because there is the moving from tanks to cleaning facility's and other processes I am doing a project on these and idk what happens when they get stuck hope this helps you tho

Saludos.

This farm spent like a million dollars extra for some bull shit😂😂 dude you need one wet and dry leg and 1 wet bin. Put the fines collector before it hits the wet leg. You showed it all very well. But there’s no farm like that where I’m from. The elevator wouldn’t take it😂 so many up and downs and pipes the corn would be so fucked up you’d lose money

I was wondering what farm has 65 legs and conveyors to do a simple project. Lol

Maybe not a farm, but a larger Grain Refinery/Gluten Plant with a flour Mill most definitely has this kind of stuff on the premises.

Very complex for something so simple as storing grain.
@parithon23976 ай бұрын
Ah, but the process isn’t just storing the grain. The process also reducing moisture and even drying the grain as well.
