I agree. I think this whole obsession with the 27 Club is sick, morbid, and useless. Concentrate on the fact that we were blessed with their talent to begin with. If Gram hadn't stuck to what he wanted we would never have heard his music. He would have been limited to country covers and none of his own music

I had never heard of Gram Parsons til I moved to Saskatchewan in the winter of ‘74. “The Women” did the introductions in Regina, at 1157 Retallack Street. ‘Love Hurts’ helped me get at my grief and despair a couple of years later. Eternally grateful for that gift. #thewomen

Beautiful song, an all time favorite. The best GP and Emmylou ever did together, IMHO. GP is still missed, and thought of often. I want everyone to remember him today, on his birthday, and all the music that followed that was influenced by him. Another's words sum up his legacy - "People are influenced by him without even knowing it. He's an innovator...the influence is felt over the years and decades to come. That's why he's still around, because he's an original."
