Glad you made it to gran canaria your heading south soon you be in playa del ingles then there is a hostel in calle la palma san fernando 35100 if you walk to the sand dunes of maspolmas they are very nice or puerto mogan is very nice i think you would love Sta Catlinia

La Palma, another Canary Islands is less windy and more green. Maybe you find a cheap flight.
