hairybones1997 GT6 was not that bad. Much better than GT5 which (as a huge GT fan ever since GT2) I didn't even bother buying. I rented it for a weekend and was not happy. GT6 was a step in the right direction and a MUCH better overall game than Forza 5

Yeah, no that's just wrong. PS2 quality cars everywhere - 500 versions of the same car for no reason, far more limited upgrade options. Don't get me wrong, i've chucked hundreds of hours into GT6, but FM has been ahead of GT in terms of overall polish for a long time.

GT onne was great. GT 2 wasn't as good, on account of not being able to fully race modify every car. GT3 was pretty good. GT4 was too time consuming - it was a full time job. GT5 was great - as with GT4 time penalties sucked. There were too many boring restrictions In the latter games. event played 6. Which is a shame, as I loved the early GT games.
