Gran Turismo 4 - Double File Rolling Starts

i guess you just tell every other car to overtake, but since they have a speed limit they just get side to side, if that's so it's a smart solution

Nice! Have you found any tracks where this doesn't work all that great? Maybe tracks where the rolling start mostly takes place in a corner, like Tsukuba or specially Opera Paris.

good point and you answered yourself :D this wont work great in Opera Paris , Autumn Ring Mini etc. where the start line is shortly after a corner

I know it wont be possible but it would be even better if there was a pace car in front leading the field.

despite GT4 having the R34 pace car (from license tests -like IA-15-)

​@@darkmagicians62it's not possible because there is a hardcoded limitation in regards to vehicle quantity, 6 is the max we will ever get in gt4

Imagine if Gran Turismo 7 also has double file rolling starts like in GT4. (Although Gran Turismo 5 also has double file rolling starts in Like the Wind and GRAN TURISMO NASCAR SERIES)

Once again, a HUGE QOL improvement on the game. I remember challenging myself to beat the Pan European Championship with the Lancia Delta Integrale, and being totally blasted at Côte d'Azur by the single file rolling start, that gave the first car an easy 7 seconds advantage not only over me, in an underpowered car for the championship, but for all other AI in evenly matched cars as well. All I can say about this mechanic (that seems fixed here) is good old BS! Keep up the great work as always!

thanks. well initially i thought about this for race cars only events because irl races mostly start double file. monaco can work as the main straight is long but this is unapplicable on some tracks.

Imagine getting like the last corners of a track or right before the Safety/Pace car (the r34) goes into the pits and then have that start for the start/finish line

Imagine Formula GT at the Motegi oval with this starting format... it'll make you want to play the ABC/ESPN Indycar theme song since there was a major open wheel race at the oval, the Firestone Indy Japan 300, for the Indycar Series. The most famous moment of the event history came in 2008, when Danica Patrick got her 1st Indycar Series race win in the Indy Japan 300.
