Gran Tourismo saved my life - Some years ago I was driving from one town to another, an occasional trip for me so I was semi familiar with the roads, it was the early hours of the morning and still dark, I was doing 60mph down a 2 lane dual carriageway and there was a long blind left bend, suddenly there was a huge raised roundabout which was not there previously, seems the windy weather had blown over the temporary warning signs, I braked heavily and went into a spin, my rear-end was dragging me round towards the outer kerb of the roundabout, I had already spun 180º, Due to playing a ton of GT I instinctively I let go of the brake, flicked the steering wheel and re-applied the brake in an instant, and the weight in the car shifted from rear to front, completing a 360º spin and pulling me away from the kerb which would have smashed my wheels and axle an likely flipped the car. for a moment I let myself relax as the smog of rubber lifted and I was facing the right way and continued on my Journy.

I was in my brother's MX5 and he was being a tit at a roundabout, he span out and smashed into a kerb. Luckily he only needed new rear wheel. It was scary but we laugh about it like a min after.

@@eyesturnedeverinward Don't assume dear, im 45, happened in my 30's I was doing less than the speed limit (which is 70 in the UK on a dual carriageway) It was a brand new roundabout for an impending industrial estate build so in the middle of nowhere, the temp signs had blown over due to a storm and there were no road markings or reflective barriers yet, the instict and knowledge to shift the cars weight and pull the car away from the kerb was entirely due to learned reactions from playing GT.

How would you say the grip at low speeds is compared to gtsport. I found low speeds wildly unrealistic, even in low powered cars you'd spin out for the slightest hesitation or power input. Also real life 0 to 60 times could not be reached because of this. I believe this is why they did rolling starts.

This is one of my biggest problem in gt sport. Since my country had shitty internet providers, sometimes we got literally no internet connection at all. And whenever that happens, i usually go to my ps4 to play single player games. Also to add up, server maintenance. Can't also play when they're fixing the servers.

I was 12 when the first one came out and me and my lil brother adored these, we're in our 30's now and I was just telling him the other day that I was buying this and now the journey continues....only now my 13 old daughter is my designated driver, very fun game as usual, great to see the many improvements they have made. As for the mircotransactions, just progress into the cafe enough and you'll eventually unlock higher paying yet chill races! Happy racing!

Already bought it the first night it came out. Didn't have to think twice. Amazing Game !!! driving is sick, effects are there, car history and world history is top notch. The narrating is simplistic but engaging and fun to read along without getting bored. The cars are beautiful and awards are given frequently but the racing can get difficult if you have it on master yoda level. This game is for those who appreciate racing and calmness. This is a car collectors dream

As a long time fan of GT games (since GT2) this is surely the best ever by a country mile. It's just mindblowing the amount of features and attention to detail without cutting down on fun. It's the "one more turn" of racing games. Grinding has a very good balance, not painful anymore, and every car is very unique and thus not boring anymore by racing with Clios or a 1969 Mini! I play on PS5 (loading times almost inexistent and the most beautiful graphics and amazing 3D sound on headphones) so can't comment on PS4. Also, don't bother with buying credits with real money, you will regret it, I still have my 1.000.000 credits voucher to be redeemed and suddently I found myself with 1.000.000 in my account and plenty of cars just after 15hours playing.

I love GT7. It's exactly what I wanted it to be. The original "CaRPG", I love that you referenced the enjoyment in just browsing parts and comparing upgrades and stats. A lot of the fun is the pre-race, just getting everything configured just right to shave those seconds off your time.

Gt5 is alright but the devs clearly slacked and didn't put a lot of effort in it only a fraction of the effort that got out into even gt1. Its just so when the next game releases you'll need to buy that one just like with GT5 and GT6 (altho single player was still playable which is important) but to play with friends you had to buy the new low effort traincrash dumpsterfire game they put out. Sony has never patched such things and never will. If they end up doing that, good they found a solution for a problem they created I guess?

@@ujiv31 id say yes if you're a fan of the series, I'm loving the game and the PS4 version is still pretty good quality. I think there's enough cars, they will add a load more in time, Alot of standard cars, also high end and a few concept cars. The licenses are a good challenge as usual and the story mode keeps you busy but also will help new comers I'm a big way. Its really up to you if you're still enjoy get sport then I'd say wait a while and get it on sale and maybe with other stuff added, but if you're thinking the opposite I'd say go for it

Started with GT3 on ps2 & have played every entry since. I’m happy with the deeper single player focus this time around. Not thrilled about not being able to sell cars from your garage for credits though. There’s a few other nitpicky things that I hope are fixed through updates. Haven’t progressed super far into it yet but I think it’s a great entry in the series that will only get better.

I LOVED GT3. I got GT4 way late(i didnt know it came out before i got it). I remember GT5 prologue, i didnt play it, it seemed like a demo. GT Sport looked like a half ass GT game. The next thing i find out is GT7 and it looked and sounded amazing. I watched some 30 min vid from the devs and it blew my mind. I just got GT7 last night and played 6 hours and was up till 3 am. I am loving it.

I've been racing digitally since 1988 Test Drive on the Apple II. Gran Turismo 7 is, by far, the most in-depth, beautiful and fun racing game so far, for a car guy. You don't have to delve into the historical details, but it certainly is fun to do so for a break when you need one. So far, the game is a great balance of the above.

I used to play GT1,2 and 4 so much back in the day, i remember leaving my ps2 active for a whole day and having the game using auto drive to complete those insane races which were 100 laps long or something in GT4. After GT Sport's disappointment i really wanted more out of the new mainline title of the franchise. The game looks and plays great but the always online component combined with the microtransaction system which certainly plays it's role when it comes to grinding really threw me off...If things change in the future i'm certainly buying it but for now i'l pass.

My 1st game on a ps1 was gran turismo, that's how I got into cars. Fell in love with the 300zx z32 made me want to own a Z car. And now I have a Z34 370Z IRL in 2018 and been modding it since then. Gt7 looks amazing feels really good. Hopefully there's a patch for the psvr 2 hahah

I've been playing GT since GT2 but first owned was GT3 A Spec on the PS2 and I love the realism of it and the licensed cars. Theres soo many of them. (shoutout finding out about the Evos and GTRs and so many cars from other countries I never knew existed from this game) I love how automakers even make GT only cars and I love their physics engine. I haven't played them all but I've loved every one I've played. It's super relaxed but challenging at the same time and it's just you and the game for the most part and I love that. Sometimes you hate playing racing games with other people especially immature kids who just want to run you off the road. The music ties it up so well too, it's great to hear the more intense music for the races and after that awesome close call win, relax and wind down to the more relaxing music as your bpm returns to normal. Awesome series.

The PS4 non pro version takes a while to load in between EVERYTHING aside from that runs smoother than ft sport car models are amazing, car physics and wobble camera 2 is the best. Smoke is great, drifting feels real. The way the car snaps and spins when you lose control. I have played since gran Turismo 5

On PS4: As anyone managed to delete and then re-start a new game? It seems that after deleting the game save, it allows to re-start a new game while offline, but once connected to the internet, the previous/original game save is restored. WTF*??

Don't know about anybody else, but I personally love the new personality they put in this Gran Turismo game. It feels more engaging to me with those human pictures that pop up and tell you what you need to do next. It feels more fun and something different like I have a coach coaching me throughout the game. I actually like it. I started with the very first Gran Turismo loved it loved the second one, but after that I kind of lost interest. Yes I did play all the other games but the second one was still my favorite. This one though feels like it's something special it might end up being my favorite let's see ....

I've been playing GT since the first day the original dropped. GT7 is pretty standard for a GT game. So far I'm liking it a lot. Nothing new or ground breaking but a lot of fun. Yes, it's a grind. Yes, it's missing a ton of new cars. No, there's still no skid marks. It's pretty much exactly what GT has been since day 1. If you're ok with that, you'll like this game.

There are racing games and racing sims. Racing games are games like forza or need for speed, but racing sims are stuff like assetto corsa and the F1 games. Gran turismo looks like a sim but definitely plays more like an arcade game than assetto corsa

I've played gt5 a little bit, then gt6 came out and my dad bought it for us. I have spent hours in that game and when I bought a ps4 my first game was gt sport, even though that wasnt the best game I still enjoyed it and played it lots of hours. I pre-ordered gt7 and I already have lots of hours in it and I really enjoy it. I love the series and I haven't played gt4 but I still think this is the best one ever!

My only view gripes/nitpicks. Is that. The driving looks stiff. Eben from first person perspective. The driver doesn't move their hands much to re-adjust there hands or anything like that. The camera doesn't feel dynamic either. When I'm driving at high-speed or turning really hard the camera doesn't really move and effectively makes me feel like I'm not moving and my movements don't have much impact. Luckily there were a few option deep in the menu to change the perspective but driving still could use some mire effect. But I like the game for what it is. It plays well. The music is great the menus are clean and crisp along with the Nitendo like audio ques that play with every button press... But I'm not going to lie though. I'm surprised that Driveclub still holds its own against this game in some ways mainly the weather effects and certain key details on the vehicles I'm the vehicle, with audio and with the drivers steering wheel.

I remember them talking about gt2 and gt3. Saying one day will have a gt5-9 on something like a ps6. Haha they weren't far off.

Do not buy. Nerfed credits,and always online DRM have shown in the last day that polyphony doesnt give a shit about your time spent playing. They just want your money. Exactly what han said. Its depreasing even trying to play it right now. You need to no life it to earn anything. Nitros is 100 grand. Which is ludicrous. You always start in last place out of 16 to however many cars which on nurburgring makes it difficult to make it to first in one lap and manage the clean race bonus. Its all designed around making you pay more.

This is my first GT game and I am loving it. I skew towards Arcade Racers, but have played a few Sims. I found myself turning off most of the assists almost right away. You are totally right that it feels more like a shackle than a help. I got sucked into the License tests as soon as they opened up. I had to gold every one of the B tests before I could move on. After a half hour of retrying over and over to get gold on all of them, my wife decided this was the most boring game ever and went to bed. I got them golds and the two reward cars though so... worth it.
