Also, a cyber pint for anyone who spots the very ‘non deliberate mistake’ I made when editing this video…. Post in the comments if you notice it 🤣

You invented some new mathematics, where counting to five becomes a random number generator.

Great fundamentals. Ive employed these strategies and quickly moved from Low C to High B teetering on A. Im on controller so i feel like my learning curve is higher than on wheel but im having alot of fun and doing it in VR amd love every minute of it. See you on track again sometime Del when u visit the US servers at 6am eastern time

Some great tips! I would change #5 to understanding racecraft.... it's not just about driving and being fast but also how to drive fast with other drivers on track too! 🏎🏎🏎

So helpful mate. Thanks so much for this. As a new 50+ racer I am really enjoying this (as is my son !) but much like yourself bloody frustrating when getting punted !! Managed to get to B but now back to C. Will keep up the practice and pick my battles. Always believe in racing clean though.........

Some very good points that I have been using too. Only tip that I would say is not going to be for everyone is the TC and countersteer. At the end of the day we all have different levels of ability. There will be some that just will never have the level of skill to drive the most difficult cars without those aids. I've been British Series hang gliding championship and when I was a relative novice I couldn't understand why some people couldn't fly a Moyes Litespeed. I found them easy. It just comes down to natural ability sometimes combined with lots of practice.

Great video! One point I might add is you mentioned setting a limit time for practice but on an exceptionally difficult track for example Bathurst it will probably take more than 2 hours to learn it if you've never raced it.

Tip 6, ditch the automatic gearbox and run manual. You'll be shocked at how most cars will gain more speed well after the auto shift points and a bonus is being able to downshift on up hill sections that the auto stays in a higher gear for!

Man I struggle to get faster. Been playing for 6 months. Still in D. Always about 5% down. It's frustrating.

I was like that for ages didn't think I'd ever get to B but now I'm pushing A the biggest thing I changed was breaking earlier. Earlier than seems natural and hitting the apex even if you don't carry the speed.

I find even if I get a good qualy time, I still end up at back end of the grid. Try to avoid getting involved with stupid drivers but trouble seems to find me!! So annoying.

I’ve found that going into another lobby can help, simply quit before the race starts so as to avoid DR loss and join the next one. Maybe a coincidence but I’ve also experienced grid cycling too. Eg. A couple around 9-12 then suddenly 3rd.

Every new daily i race in ill go do 3 or 4 laps, after that ill load the fastest persons replay to see where I can shave off time, next ill go back and run for 30 or 40 mins using the shift points from the fast lap replay then adjust accordingly to help improve corner exit speed if Im not getting the exit speed (like sometimes I brake a bit too much and exiting a corner im 3rd may not be the fastest so ill go down to 2nd) and run lap after lap working to improve every corner until I'm feeling good about the lap and hopefully start in P5 or better.
